Christmas is the one day of the year that is globally recognized by people from all walks of life and of all religions, a time when Christians celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior. The presents, the lights, the food, all of it is wonderful, but please do not forget the reason for the season. It is about a child who was born, a child who was destined to die. Destined to die for me. Destined to die for you.

He died so that we could have an opportunity to know God in a completely different way. He died so that we no longer have to face the consequences of our sins. He died so that we could be adopted into His family.

Christmas is a reminder of a God who was once separate, worlds apart from us, becoming flesh and entering the world in the most vulnerable state. From the humblest beginnings, He was even laid in an animal’s feeding place after His birth. This is a God who went to great lengths, letting go and emptying Himself to become one of us.

The word Emmanuel means “God with us.” The concept of God used to feel distant, unreachable. But the God we serve as Christians took on flesh and became one of us, so He could relate to us. He lived the life we could not live and died the death we deserved, so that we could accept His forgiveness, receive His righteousness, and have the opportunity to know God and have a relationship with Him.

Christmas is a reminder that the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ could not have happened without His birth. Christmas is hope. The birth of Christ is a symbol of hope, that we no longer have to remain dead in our sins but can be saved and have a relationship with God. He became one of us in order to save us. Now He knows us more intricately than before because He has lived and experienced the same things we have.

The most important gift you will receive this Christmas, the most important gift you will ever receive, is the gift of Christ, given to us by God. In His Son, we find salvation in a baby, and life for many.

Every Christmas feels more and more special to me, as i grow my relationship with God. I will never fully understand his love for me, but I definitely see a glimpse of it in Christ, and I hope you do too.

God bless you all. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
