Hi AFV'ers

The vote for the next project to land on the workbench is now close.

The winner of the last 'You're the Boss' vote is.... The Dragon Sherman Firefly πŸ‘

Thank you to everybody that voted.

I have some big plans for this project and a great idea for diorama setting.

I don't know if any of you are aware, but some modelling channels have been hit by the AI algorithm and are facing possible closure....Not this channel, but I have heard of a couple that have had videos removed and emails citing the 'promotion of hate speech' warning they face closure if policy is broken again.
All this over building a scale model and showing people with a similar interest for model making and depicting a historical event.

So I feel that discussing a project may become harder to do here over time.

I have therefore decided that Patreon could be the way to go for communicating ideas about modelling projects, and I am now hope to do way more over there than I have to date.

So the full announcement for the next project, complete with historical background and accompanying storyline can be read over on my Patreon page.

If you are are a model making enthusiast, interested in creating lifelike models and scenes and would like to see more of what I am doing. I would encourage you to join and take a look.

Hi AFV'ers

As you can see the diorama project for Tiger build is now finished.
I just need to edit a video together and will post here for you all very soon.
I'm quite happy with the way it turned out and I think I will be doing this for all my future project.
It was quite enjoyable to try something new to me.

If you would like to follow the projects as they come together, you can take a look over on my Patreon Page.
I do offer a free subscription to everyone there, but any who decide to support with a monthly donation will get credit in my videos along with my thanks and appreciation for the support.

Hi AFV'ers

Many have asked in the past if I would construct diorama's for the models I build and show here.
So I have decided to branch out a little and give it a go. Adding a bit more to what I can show here.

With that in mind I have been building a small basic Diorama to display Tiger 217 on.

I have been filming the process and I will put together a video for the channel as soon as I have completed the work. Hopefully sometime this weekend.
I just have the figures to finish off and that should be pretty much done for this project.

So the future here looks interesting.
There will be more Dioramas and I might even do some figure painting video's as well.

The next Project as voted by all of you here is going to be good one, and I will go into a bit more detail once I have the workbench cleared.

If you would like to follow the projects as they come together, you can take a look over on my Patreon Page.
I do offer a free subscription to everyone there, but any who decide to support with a monthly donation will get credit in my videos along with my thanks and appreciation for the support.

Well it's time again to have your say and choose my next project in....

Your the Boss

Looking at how many Sherman kits I have accumulated, it would be nice see one built here
Help me to pick one out and the winner will be the next project on the bench

Option 1: Is an M4 from Normandy. (Forgive me as Shermans are not my forte and I can never tell an A4 from an A2) 🀣In the kit we have 3d printed headlight guards, a decent bit of photoetch, metal barrel and Magic tracks that wear damage on the rubber pads that actually looks really nice.

Option 2: is an M4A4 (how did I guess πŸ€”) with mounted 60lb rockets. The rocket assembly is 3d printed, machined brass and photoetch. we have a metal barrel but no magic tracks πŸ˜₯This is a 'China Limited' kit and comes with 4 British infantry figures

Option 3: is an M4A1 76mm from Operation Cobra. The kit has a metal barrel, Magic tracks, optional 3d printed 'duck bills', 3d printed headlight guards and a whole load of stowage that can be used.(I was surprised the amount that was in there) and as this is a 'China Limited' kit it comes with full crew as well.

Option 4: is a Sherman Firefly 1C. This is the only kit that has a moulded gun barrel but it is single piece. We have magic tracks with the 3d printed 'duck bills' and a really decent amount of photoetch.

Let me know which one you would like to see built and it could end up on the bench 🫑

Project: Otto Tiger 217 Update #4

Hi AFV'ers

Here is a small update on the painting progress of Tiger 217
The model was clean and primed, and then the pre-shading was applied.
I used a slightly different approach to pre-shading than I have used before and I think it has worked out better.
Then I built up the base coat until it was looking like I wanted

So this is where it stands now, I have some highlighting to do and then I can start on the camo. All that is for next week.

There is a more detailed update available over on my free to join Patreon page. There you will find more pictures and more explanation of what I do, along with other content that is exclusive to Patreon.
Just follow the link πŸ‘‡ and check out what you might be missing out on.

Hi AFV'ers

I have just uploaded the finished video for the Tiger 217 build that will be available to view from Friday 22/11/2024 12.00GMT.

There is a lot to squeeze into this video but in it I show some techniques for applying Zimmerit and welds to your models, along with photoetch bending and soldering tips and a little bit of scratch building to replace some of the detail parts from the kit. I have also used 3D printed tool clamps and cable 'tie downs' in place of the kit versions.

You can also watch this video now over on my Patreon Page as its available on any Early Access membership
Just follow the link πŸ‘‡to the video and check out what else is available. πŸ˜‰

Project: Otto Tiger 217 Update #3

Hi AFV'ers

We are nearly there now...
The model is finished and I am working on the video as I write this update.
I thought I just had the turret to assemble this week but I found a few details I had missed on the hull, so I got those done before starting on the turret. This included the torch cutting marks on the steel plates and the track cable and cable hooks were scratch built instead of using the kit supplied part.

You can find more pictures and description for these updates over on my Patreon page.
You can join for Free, or if you decide to take the paid membership it will be greatly appreciated.

Project: Otto Tiger 217 Update #2

Hi AFV'ers

Time for an update on the Otto project.

The lower hull is now completed. I have pulled out all the stops on this build. I have added extra photoetch in the form of side fenders and exhaust heatshields. I have ditched the moulded on tool clamps and cable clamps for 3D printed variety and I have added my own welds to the entire hull.

There is, as always, a more comprehensive look at everything that has been done, over on my free Patreon Page.

Over there, you will find an update with over 50 pictures and complete description of the work carried out to accompany. You can also comment and ask any questions you like that I will answer in detail.

You will also find Patreon exclusive videos and guides for your entertainment and an aid to easily raise your modelling up another level.
Its easy to join and its FREE.... Donations are an option and are greatly appreciated, but its not a requirement.
I would rather you... be there, than be square πŸ˜† I'm showing my age with that phrase 🀣

Project: Otto Tiger 217 Update #1

Hi AFV'ers
I have finally started the Otto Tiger project. Had a couple of busy work weeks and didnt really get time to start, but we are on the way now.

There was a lot do here before even starting the main build. A lot of photoetch to bend and solder and all the zimmerit to apply. But now that is done I can get on with the assembly.
I have about half the lower hull completed and now its just gluing bits on, I hope to have the hull completed this week.

There is a much more detailed post you can view over on my free Patreon page that has lots of pictures and a full description of the work completed. You can also find Exclusive Patreon only video's and reference material to help you with your own projects.

Its easy to join and its free for all.
