Hey everyone, if, like me, you find that the home page of YouTube is too distracting, addictive, or full of stuff that you watch and laugh, but then walk away and feel ugg, here is a way to disable it.
I've already done this, I'm subscribed to the channels I do truly enjoy, so my subscription panel is how I'll access regular YouTube. It doesn't affect your ability to use YouTube, it just removes the homepage recommended videos.
If you do like how YouTube is currently recommending videos for you, DON'T follow this, as it will partially reset the algorithm if you decide to turn it back on.
Your subscribed channels do play a part too, so for the rest of us, if you do want to eventually turn it back on, by being subscribed to your favorite channels you effectively "prime" your recommendation algorithm with the channels you love.
For the steps written out:
1) Go into your profile
2) click on the history tab to see all watch history
3) click on the 3 buttons (mobile version*) and click "pause watch history"
4) repeat, but click on "clear watch history" instead
Go to your homepage and reload it by swiping top-down on your screen (mobile version*)
5) if it doesn't turn blank, do step 4 a second time
*This should also be doable on pc, but I did it on mobile

Working on a vanilla sorting system video. It's already in existence, I just need to finish up the tutorial on it.
The create mod is very useful, I'm using it to demonstrate how it works. The smart observer is being helpful.
