### Guinness Beef Meat Pie Recipe

**Ingredients:**
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 sticks of celery, diced
- 1 whole onions, diced
- 1 kg chuck steak, cubed
- 500 ml beef broth
- 100 g salted butter
- 1 can (430 ml) Guinness stout
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 1 sheet of shortcrust pastry
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Nutmeg, to taste
- 1 tablespoon corn flour
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Vegetable oil (for greasing)

**Instructions:**

1. **Brown the Meat:**
- In a large pan, brown the cubed chuck steak over medium-high heat. Once browned, set aside.

2. **Cook the Vegetables:**
- In the same pan, melt the butter and add the diced onions, carrots, and celery. Sauté until they are browned.
- Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg to taste.

3. **Prepare the Filling:**
- Once the vegetables are browned, add the beef broth and the entire can of Guinness stout.
- Add the browned meat back into the pan.
- Stir in 1 tablespoon of corn flour to help thicken the mixture.
- Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 3 hours, stirring occasionally, until the meat falls apart.

4. **Cool the Filling:**
- Once the meat is tender and the filling is thickened, set it aside to cool.

5. **Prepare the Pie:**
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Grease your chosen baking dish with vegetable oil.
- Line the dish with the sheet of shortcrust pastry, pressing it firmly into the corners and sides.

7. **Top with Puff Pastry:**
- Cover the pie with the sheet of puff pastry, pressing the edges to seal.
- Pierce the top of the pastry with a knife or fork to allow steam to escape.
- Brush the top with beaten egg for a golden finish.

8. **Bake the Pie:**
- Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 40 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and crisp.

9. **Rest and Serve:**
