The time has finally come... I'm NOW LIVE remaking my first game in C++ using raylib (poll winner)! As a curve ball, I'm also going to be using JetBrains CLion instead of Visual Studio, so let's see how this goes! Come hang out: twitch.tv/thecherno

Starting this weekend I’ll be remaking a past game of mine in C++ from scratch live on Twitch! This will then be turned into somewhat of an educational video on YouTube. Normally I would probably use one of my own frameworks but I want to make it a more accessible to a broader audience who might want to learn a popular framework.

So - what framework do you want to see me use? Game will be 2D. These are the two I’m considering, but if you have any other suggestions please let me know!

Check my Twitch schedule to know when I'll be live: twitch.tv/thecherno/schedule

Hi all! I know a lot of you have been missing my broader educational content - rest assured I haven't forgotten or abandoned that side of my channel, there are simply times when I must practice the very thing I preach and actually write some code (which I've been doing a lot of lately on twitch.tv/thecherno).

Nevertheless - I've been thinking about making some graphics/rendering videos on some common topics I get asked often, such as how to render 3D meshes. The issue I'm facing here is - what API/framework do I use for this? The concepts are generic and apply to anything (Vulkan/OpenGL/Direct3D/etc.), but since I want to actually demonstrate this through working code, I have to choose something.

I've thought about using a framework such as Walnut (github.com/StudioCherno/Walnut) to make the application and rendering side of things easier, but if I go too far into that direction then I fear the specifics become less useful than if I had for eg. just used OpenGL. So my question is this - what should I use when making rendering/graphics tutorial videos?

Which new Hazel Engine feature should we work on FIRST? Which of these would like to see in Hazel FIRST?

Recently I made a video talking about future features we're planning for Hazel: https://youtu.be/hUFHzuIyK0g

In that video I mentioned four major new features planned for the near future, and I'm interested to hear what you think we should work on first.

If you'd like to read more about these features, and see some dev videos, check out hazelengine.com/roadmap

Should I make a video sharing my thoughts on this Unity situation?

Hey everyone! A while ago I made a video where I did a C++ university assignment (linked), and now I'm keen to make another one! If you're in university/college, past or present, and have an assignment that you thought was really good, really bad, or otherwise weird that you'd like to see me do, send it in to chernoreview@gmail.com with the subject "University Assignment".

You can redact the name of the university if you'd like, but either way I will not be including the name in the video (on the other hand if you'd like me to mention your name in the video, I'm happy to do that). Thanks and looking forward to your crazy assignments! ❤️
