Please check Streeter Sweeper's new video out! He's one of my favorite creators and still criminally underviewed.
Oh, last reminder to check out Ground News at ground.news/paper, the sponsor of the North Korean video. After 18 months of me being "inactive", no sponsors wanted to work with me because my channel was "dead" and the North Korea idea was too weird. Ground News, on the other hand, immediately jumped on board and were the chillest company I've ever worked with. They took a big risk on me, and it meant a lot.
Hey all, what YouTube sponsor have you tried and can vouch for? Looking for a good company to sponsor my upcoming Power Rangers video! Doesnāt matter if itās a big or small company, as long as you think their product was good.
Thanks for the laptop suggestions. Went 16 inch M3 Max chipset with a butt ton of ram and storageā¦and Iām gonna use it to watch 975 episodes of Power Rangers.
Life is good.
Many subscribers have told me this video won't appear in their feed, so here's one final post about it: I made a 5 hour video, go stare at it for a few hours if you're bored.
Appreciated all the macbook suggestions! Going to save up for a few more months or so to get the one I want. Thanks again everyone!!
Just my annual reminder to consider joining my Patreon at www.patreon.com/paperwill ! The North Korean video cost a couple thousand dollars for translation work, music and tracking down media, and it would literally not have been possible without Patreon supporters. The most recent post has my very first video ever which makes me physically cringe to watch. Although it does have a small cameo by Hungrybox. Weird stuff, check it out.
However, even if you're not in a financial position to donate, that's ok too! I don't believe in paywalls for my content, so everything can viewed through the free membership option.
Either way, thanks for your continuous support, whether it's Patreon, likes, shares, or just watching my stuff. At a certain point I'll have to stop saying this...but I still feel like that dude with 500 subscribers who just lucked into algorithim success. But I'll keep doing my best to release better videos!
PS Thanks for the MBP suggestions! I'm still reading the thread.
Looking into upgrading to a new, ālast me 8-10 yearsā MacBook Pro. Does anyone with experience think the extra cost of the M3 Max with the boosted specs is worth it? Itās quite pricey but I want something thatāll handle anything I throw at it, especially AI Upscaling of footage and some light 3D animation. Itās the difference of a few thousand dollars so Iām really on the fence.
In the weeks before this video released, I couldn't sleep.
I was terrified that the video would immediately bomb. After all, not everyone enjoys 6 hour videos (and fair enough!), the subject matter is a certainly a little bizarre, and from YTās point of view, my channel was kind of dead. Plus thereās always that voice in the back of my head telling me, āThis video isnāt good enough!" which is a great motivator but can also be a little exhausting.
All of this stuff was keeping me up late every night. I kept thinking, āWhat if I just spend nearly every day of the last 2 years on this, and nobody even watches it? Or worse, what if a LOT of people watch it, but hate it? What if it's garbage?"
Now, 2 weeks after release...the videoās passed over half a million views, and has one of the most positive and supportive comment sections I've ever seen.
To each and every person out there: thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you for waiting patiently for the video, for watching it, for sharing it with people you know, for leaving comments that convinced me I made something that's not garbage, for being one of the coolest audiences on the platform, and most importantly, for constantly reminding me to take care of myself. I'll do my best to listen to that a little more.
I'm the luckiest guy in the world.
