This Vaisakhi, Prime Minister Keir Starmer welcomed Sikhs from across the UK to 10 Downing Street for a special reception, honouring the spirit of Vaisakhi and the incredible contribution of British Sikhs to the nation.
In a heartfelt address, the Prime Minister spoke not just as a host, but as a fellow citizenโopening the doors of both his workplace and his home to the Sikh community. "You are entitled to be here. You belong here," he said. "This is your government."
๐ฌ๐ง From recognising the bravery of Sikh soldiers in both World Wars, to honouring the seva (selfless service) shown during the pandemic and in response to the cost of living crisis, the evening was a powerful reflection of Sikh valuesโcourage, compassion, and service.
