One of the coolest parts of being a Designer or engineer is having the ability to create something new or improved from just an idea!
I love dirt biking, mountain bikes, motorcycles, etc.. so creating a 3d Model of a Lever was a perfect fit for an example project in @solidworks
During this walkthrough/follow along I use a set of Calipers as well as a standard ruler to pull the necessary measurements to recreate and improve upon a part to scale in Solidworks.

Drawing Lists or Sheet Lists in #AutoCAD are a common necessity once you start creating large drawing sets.
Did you know there's a simple way to automatically create them if you use sheet sets to set up your drawings?

Unreconciled Layers in #AutoCAD !
We've all gotten this popup warning before, sometimes, frustratingly, when we've left our computer to plot a large drawing set. Holding up the whole process....
While often annoying, this warning can actually be helpful, it can also be turned off just as easily.
Check out this video for how they work, and a quick fix!

Part of being Productive and Engaged as a Designer, Engineer, etc.. is making an effort to stay connected to your work while avoiding burnout over the long term.
There are a handful of great ways to do this, I recently wrote a post outlining some of my favorites here:

When it's nice out I always try to take a walk on my lunch or before work to get some exercise in as well as enjoy some nice weather!
You can even learn while getting in those steps through audiobooks, podcasts, or if it makes sense, attend daily meetings while walking!
NEW VIDEO!
In it we are looking at simple ways to split a polyline or polygon in #AutoCAD.
Whether you need to break up/split your polyline at a random location, split it into equal segments or explode it into it's individual segments.
This video has a command and answers for you!

Along the lines of last weeks post about customizing our workspaces in #AutoCAD to boost productivity and ease of use, we can also customize things simply to look the way we'd like.
Things like "dark mode" custom selection colors (yesterday's post) or Cursor Settings!
I often get asked about how to customize the look, size, and options when it comes to the Cross Hair/Cursor in AutoCAD.
I even made a video about it which has over 100,000 views... Who'd have thought this was such a popular topic among designers?
Check it out and change your Cursors Look:

Did you know you can customize your Selection Highlighting settings in #AutoCAD
Some users simply like to turn off selection/object highlighting (where your selected objects glow blue) others like to tone down the effect or change up the color/options to better suit their needs.

Cleaning up #AutoCAD drawings can save you space by reducing drawing sizes, as well as time when things run faster/smoother as we work!
These are a few must know #AutoCAD commands to help clean up drawings:
Purge - remove unused layers, styles, blocks etc
Audit - check/fix DWG for errors
Overkill - remove multiples & overlapped objects
Laydel - Delete occupied/stubborn layers
Wblock - declutter by creating separate dwg with objects
