A channel dedicated to urban (and rural) explorations.
Urbex juggles the same tantalizing ingredient found in đđđđ đ¤đđđđ-type "Fallout" fiction: accessing an alternate history. There's something Odyssean about exploring the ruins. The past is HERE and NOW and can be accessed by tricking a guard, sneaking through a sewer or jumping a fence. Long story short, we practice anti-tourism. Why anti-tourism? Because tourist exploited sites are reduced to a control mechanism - by itineraries, finances and accessibility. Historian Daniel J. Boorstin said that the tourist experience - filtered through tour packages or commercial resort narratives - has become a business of "pseudo-events", a consumerist standardisation of man's ancestral reflex towards exploration.
Long live the adventure!
