Conversations with your children about swearing are great opportunities to create an environment to talk about feelings and learn about social etiquette. Stay calm when talking to them and you will go a long way to moulding an emotionally aware, respectful young person.

Our children are a mirror of ourselves, so be sure to model the type of behaviour (or speech patterns) you wish to see in them as well.

Why walk?
- Active kids are healthy kids
- By walking with your child, you're also keeping active
- It's a great time to teach kids about road safety
- Help to reduce air pollution and traffic congestion

Whether it’s walking, riding, skating or skipping, take the opportunity to get active and if you can, make walking to school part of your routine. Even doing it just one day a week makes a difference!

If your kids go on YouTube, you need to know this: Rip-off Blueys. When you glance at them, they look like Bluey episodes, but when you actually watch them, they’re anything but.

Much like #Elsagate a few years back, these Bluey episodes don’t have the same warm, fuzzy, feel-good values. Some are just plain weird, others are more violent than they need to be. You get where this is going: Let your kids scroll through YouTube by themselves (even on YouTube Kids) and soon they'll be watching things they shouldn't.
Keep your kids safe.

Know what your parental controls can and cannot do. Most of all, watch what your kids are watching, especially on YouTube.

They may say "sticks and stones may break my bones but words shall never hurt me" but we all know it's not true. What we tell our children have the potential to build them up or tear them down.

Mindful breathing exercises can help your child during anxious (or angry) moments.
