Back on stage after 10+ years! This hour-long set at Critical Northwest features original progressive acoustic songs spanning 25 years of songwriting. Some hadn't been performed live in over a decade, others were debuted live for the very first time.
The genuine connection with the audience made this everything I hoped it would be. Thanks to everyone who was there and supported my return to live performance with your genuine engagement and enthusiasm! 🎸
I hope y'all enjoy watching this hour of radical, creative self-expression!

Yo, peeps! TL;DR: I've been heads down working with VGM remix artist and fellow Halo audio dev @outsetinitiative on a Metroid Prime visual tribute album called Prime: Metroid Reimagined! We're premiering it at 10am PST on Thursday, November 17th! Check out the announcement trailer video below, and go here to learn more: metroidreimagined.com/
The TL part for those who want to know more:
First off, I'm incredibly stoked for this album - I got to perform acoustic guitar, mandolin, Irish bouzouki, as well as arrange and perform a bunch of vocals, including my fave technique of layering big lush harmonies. 😅
The songs are all arranged in an intimate, acoustic style, featuring an all-star cast of performers. Performing with so many other superstar musicians was really inspiring - here are the other musicians I got to work alongside:
~ Ryan Ike of WtWTLW, West of Loathing, Game of Thrones: Reigns, etc. played piano.
~ Doug Perry, who has worked on Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, Civilization VI, and Fossil Hunters performed percussion and marimba.
~ Andrew Steffen, who has performed with Mannheim Steamroller and several other symphony orchestras played viola.
~ And Forrester Savell mixed and mastered the album, who has worked with Twelve Foot Ninja, Animals as Leaders, I built the Sky, Tesseract, Birds of Tokyo, Karnivool... 🤩
I'm legitimately as impressed with how visually beautiful this album is as I am with how it sounds, and I'm really pleased that every visual element reaches the same high calibre thanks to our visual art and design team:
~ Mona Finden created a beautiful, custom art piece for each song, all within the Samus' visor theme.
~ Outset Initiative turned Mona's art into animated diorama-style videos for each song (preview below).
~ Jess Bruels did the typography and design, including the absolutely fire logo. 😄
It's hard to know how much effort goes into creative projects in an age with an overabundance of content, but to be transparent about this topic, this project has been in the making for over 5 years(!) Each element has been fine-tuned with extreme care and attention to detail, all the way down to swapping out a breath at the beginning of a phrase or adjusting the kerning between letters by a literal pixel. It's been sooo much work, but seeing the project as a completed whole is so rewarding, and I can't wait for y'all to hear it! 😊
If you read this far, there's a special secret - if you'd like to hear the first song in full before we release it, go to the Bandcamp page, scroll down, and play "Space Jump" from the Bandcamp player.
