Gene Hackman, the American prolific and versatile actor and two-time Oscar winner has died at the age of 95.

Before he would become a household name in the film industry, he was a war veteran from 1946 and discharged in 1951 earning the rank of Private First Class in the Marines. He first made a name for himself as Buck Barrow in the 1967's biographical crime film Bonnie and Clyde which had earned him an Oscar nomination. Despite the loss, he would come back in 1971 to play a rough police, Detective Jimmy "Popeye" Doyle in action thriller The French Connection, which garnered him the worldwide recognition and the win in Oscar, BAFTA and the Golden Globe for his impressive work.

He was also played a sadistic sheriff "Little Bill" Daggett in the 1992's western Unforgiven, opposite his later friend Clint Eastwood, and they both earned their Oscars respectively. He would continued to appear in multiple films throughout the years, such as: Superman, The Poseidon Adventure, Scarecrow, Mississippi Burning, A Bridge Too Far, Crimson Tide, Enemy of the State, Hoosiers, The Replacements, The Conversation, The Birdcage and The Royal Tenenbaums.

Thoughout his career which spanned for five decades, he had won 2 Oscars, 2 BAFTAs, 4 Golden Globes, 1 SAG and 10 Film Critic Awards. Along with his military service medals which he served in the Marine Corp during the Cold War. He was a Democrats supporter, and an active cyclist, he was also competed in the Long Beach Grand Prix celebrity race which he won the race.

Yesterday, February 26 2025. Gene Hackman, his wife Betsy Arakawa and their dog were mysteriously found dead in their home in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He was 95. The Santa Fe police department said there were no significant signs of foul play and the cause of deaths are under investigation.

Roberta Flack, American soul, jazz, R&B singer and five-time Grammy winner has died at the age of 88.

Her commercial success included the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping singles "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face", "Killing Me Softly with His Song", and "Feel Like Makin' Love". She became the first artist to win the Grammy Award for Record of the Year in consecutive years.

Flack frequently collaborated with Donny Hathaway, with whom she recorded several hit duets, including "Where Is the Love" and "The Closer I Get to You". As one of the defining voices of 1970s popular music, she remained active in the industry, later finding success with duets such as "Tonight, I Celebrate My Love" with Peabo Bryson (1983) and "Set the Night to Music" with Maxi Priest (1991). Across her decades-long career, she interpreted works by songwriters such as Leonard Cohen and members of the Beatles. In 2020, Flack received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

Two days ago, February 24 2025. Roberta Flack passed away from cardiac arrest while on her way to Manhattan hospital, which was resulted from her diagnosis of ALS which forced her to retire from performing, as the disease making it "Impossible to sing". She was 88.
