Some good news from the field today: Fire crews made solid progress strengthening control lines on both fires. All outward growth is being held in check, and the fires remain within their current footprints.
Containment Status:
Thompson Hollow Fire – 33% contained
Hammonds Rocks Fire – 41% contained
Updated Acreage:
Thompson Hollow Fire: 2,248 acres
Hammonds Rocks Fire: 497 acres
✅ Evacuation Update: Local officials have lifted the voluntary evacuation request for 80% of residents in the previously designated areas.
🏠 No structures have been lost.
⚠️ Crews are keeping a close eye on dead trees & warm, dry conditions forecasted for Sunday, which may present challenges.
