We were on @CBSMornings on Tuesday to talk about our new children's picture book, Amazing: Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders Who Inspire Us All.
Much gratitude to Gayle King, Vladimir Duthiers, Tony Dokoupil, and the CBS Mornings production team for the thoughtful questions and conversation.
We're so proud of this book (over 2 years in the making) and we're incredibly excited that it's finally out in the world for people to enjoy. You can pick up or order a copy wherever you shop for books!
Unfortunately, we didn't grow up with a book like this one. It's one of the reasons why we wanted to create it in the first place - so future generations can hopefully experience a new, AMAZING normal.
That being said, there still isn't enough representation in children's picture books - especially in the nonfiction category. AAPI history is also not required in K-12 curriculum nationwide and there are real world implications when it comes to a lack of representation and visibility in education and storytelling.
We hope that in sharing the stories of these 36 historic and contemporary trailblazers, this book can inspire empathy in children of all backgrounds. AAPI history is American history!
A truly amazing team of dedicated and talented people worked on #AmazingAAPI and it's been special to share and celebrate this moment with them. Thank you, Jenny Bak, Dane Liu, Aaliya Jaleel, Opal Roengchai, and the rest of the team at Viking Books and Penguin Kids.

We're thrilled to share that we’re being inducted into the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame!
This is a huge and unexpected honor. We got the call last week and we’ve definitely been experiencing lots of emotions - memories from our early days have come to the surface. We’ll continue to share as we have time to process, but more than anything, this news and recognition makes us think of all of the people we’re grateful for.
It starts with our parents and extends to our coaches, collaborators, friends, mentors, training mates, fans, sponsors, and beyond. A vast collection of people helped shape us into the team and people we are today, and we’re thankful for everyone who has supported us along the way.
Congratulations to our fellow Class of 2023 inductee, Paul E. George. Our on-ice ceremony will be in San Jose on January 28th. We’re looking forward to returning to the U.S. Championships! U.S. Figure Skating Association
Much love!
