It's been over a year since I received my YouTube Silver Play Button in August 2023, after reaching 100k subscribers, but I never found the right moment to open it. Life slowed down for a while as I took a step back to figure out where I was heading, both in my career and in my personal life.
I’ve spent 13 years as a software engineer. Before the pandemic, I was also a marathon runner and enjoyed hiking some of the toughest and highest mountains in the Philippines. When the world shut down and we couldn’t go out anymore, I discovered a new passion for fixing bicycles. That was the beginning of Coggie Bike, named after my pet Coggie, whom I consider my son.
This past year has been full of difficult decisions and attempts to find balance. At one point, I seriously thought about leaving my programming career behind because it no longer brought me happiness. I found more joy in fixing bikes and hiking. However, in the end, I decided to continue my career, realizing that 13 years of hard work and experience is something I couldn’t easily walk away from.
Now, I’ve found a better balance between the two. While I’ll be uploading videos again, it won’t be as often as before. For those of you who’ve been wondering about my absence over the past year, Coggie Bike is still going strong. Thank you for your concern and continued support!
