Giulia: I think everyone has the fear that "If I say this, this will be written on social media"

"Komomo (Momo Kohgo) and Ami Sohrei challenged for STRONG. The way they sell fights is crap, but I think there should be more wrestlers who actually take action. It would be boring to just walk on a rail with pro-wrestlers laid out. You have to be like, 'I'm going to lead the way and I'm going to lay out the rails, so follow me!" You may get criticized on social media, and people around you may complain, but you shouldn't give up because of that. I think everyone has the fear that "If I say this, this will be written on social media". I think they are more scared of what they can't see than their opponent. I also sometimes think to myself, "Is it okay to say this?", but such details are before the fight. Leave the outside voices alone (laughs). If you have the determination and belief, there will be no major problems. There's nothing to be afraid of."

What does Giulia want people to see about pro-wrestling and how does she want them to see it? She says that Takako Inoue's words resonated with her.

"We used to be idols, but our main role was in the ring. Idols on top of having done this.

Of course, I think promotion is important. There's nothing better than being cute and beautiful. But what we should be doing is serious competition in the ring. It's obvious, but we have to train hard to get the fans to see us. That's the icing on the cake. We must not lose sight of what's most important."

Giulia on what women's pro-wrestling should be like in the future:

"I guess it was around the time that I started feeling a little uncomfortable with STARDOM. It felt like something that had been growing so much was starting to disappear little by little. Now that I have discovered pro-wrestling and have a little bit of influence, it's time to give something back. I want to make women's pro-wrestling a more accessible form of entertainment. I know times are different, but there was a time when the ticket price was 500 yen or 1000 yen. After all, it has to be something that makes kids want to become pro-wrestlers. I think it's important to attract young fans to the venue. For the future of pro-wrestling."

Giulia on the growing number of injuries in STARDOM:

"I think we should consider the fact that there are so many injuries as an opportunity. For those who are still young or on the brink of being lost, all you have to do is say out loud, "Yes, lucky!" The problem with STARDOM is not just that there are so many people sitting out. We mustn't be overwhelmed by this unstable situation. There are many people who are easily swayed and are unable to say anything for fear of criticism. If you were a wrestler, I think you should show more of yourself. No matter how dire the situation is, you can get back on your feet. You just have to enjoy it with that feeling of "I'll do it!". That's more exciting, right? It's all about how you live in the present. This is not the time to stop and look at everyone's faces. You have no choice but to get to grips with it.

Even though I look like this, I've been through all kinds of hell (laughs). I know that the more you are in a pinch, the more room you have for growth. The more you fail, the more you have to have the belief that "I'll get back up." I think people who have a clear purpose are strong."

Giulia: From the beginning, I had a desire to compete overseas, but I thought, "Wouldn't it be better to raise the profile of women's pro-wrestling in Japan first?"

"The STRONG Women's is the belt that changed me. A belt that will change you. From the beginning, I had a desire to compete overseas, but I thought, "Wouldn't it be better to raise the profile of women's pro-wrestling in Japan first?". Overseas is good too, but I want to do it in Japan. But the world is big, isn't it? You can have experiences that you cannot get only in Japan. Knowledge too. I learned that by going to America to defend the title.

When you're absorbing new things like now, everything is a learning experience. I want to learn more. I want to level up more. Ultimately, I hope to be able to utilize my overseas experience in order to pass it on to my juniors in women's pro-wrestling and preserve the history."

Giulia on turning 30 next year:

"People around me don't say anything about my age. But my friends who are the same age as me talk about how 30 is a turning point. They all get married, have children, get divorced, remarry, and so on (laughs)."

Giulia on her time in America:

"I felt that the way fans enjoy themselves in Japan and America is different. They were so excited that I thought they had been drinking (lol). I could see their expressions from the ring, and they all seemed to be smiling and enjoying life. I felt a sense of freedom. It reminded me of my life in Italy when I was in elementary school. Normally, music was played on the roadside, and everyone from young people to old people would dance. I would join in the dancing as I passed by. When I went to the park, there was a terrace, and children were skateboarding next to elderly people doing ballroom dancing."

Giulia on whether she prefers Japan or overseas:

“Japan is the place to be when it comes to ease of living and life. It's safe, the prices are somewhat low, there's delicious food, and the toilets are clean. I think Japan is amazing. Which one is better? I know the good and bad things about overseas countries, and that of Japan too. It’s hard to decide.”

Giulia on the language barrier overseas:

"I realized that my language skills are so bad. I can't express my intentions to other people the way I want to. I wondered what I had been doing all this time. About 10 years ago, I went to Miami for a month. Even though I couldn't speak the language, I was able to make friends and go shopping, and I thought, "I can get by without studying." I wish I had studied more...! I started studying English just before I turned 30. When I was little, my parents used to converse in English, so I thought, "Why didn't I learn more back then?"

Mayu Iwatani: "I'm proud to be a part of STARDOM, and I also say to the staff, "Thank you for always working hard.""

"Of course, if we talk about small things, ticket prices are higher, merchandise is more expensive, and there used to be an autograph session at Shinkiba (a small venue), but now it's gone and the sense of distance feels farther away. It's natural for things to change as the company grows, but we have to keep thinking about whether things should stay the same. When the start time was delayed (Ushiku show on November 5th), I was like, "Eh?!", but after all, we are who we are because of all our fans, and the fans are really warm.

I wonder. I'm proud to be a part of STARDOM, and I also say to the staff, "Thank you for always working hard." There are days when it's definitely tougher than the wrestlers, right? They arrive in the morning and set up various venues. The next day, they talk to the person in charge of the venue earlier than the wrestlers. They really support the wrestlers so they can compete. Thanks to that, they have been able to create a situation where we can just wrestle matches without having to work a part-time job. On the other hand, there was too much support and it became a tough match, match, match!! If only they could improve on that, I don't think there would really be a better company out there. Is it called the "stock of merchandise"? We checked it and loaded the luggage ourselves... that's how it was originally at STARDOM. I can only thank the staff for creating an environment where the wrestlers don't have to do that anymore and can focus solely on the matches. Wrestlers make mistakes too, and sometimes they get scolded. I think it would be great if we could convey the fact that the staff is working hard in such a situation.

I think it's a good company."
