Hi all,
Traveling is not so glamorous as it may seem on social media! I have to tell you about the horrendous day we had - itβs funny in retrospect of course. So we have been staying in this 300 year old historic bed and breakfast in a small country village near Salisbury in the United Kingdom. Our room is in the back house and we had to drag our bags up a fire escape staircase. We finally got to our room and itβs freezing with no heater and the old windows donβt shut completely. Then today we drove out to see Stonehenge. We thought we could just drive up, but we had to park, walk far, then take a bus to see it. A place Iβve wanted to see my entire life and then there was a torrential downpour. We ran through the parking lot and up to the site. The rain was so hard and cold, more like hail and it was being blown sideways straight into our ears and eyes. We were in front of the Stones and spent about less than 60 seconds there because the weather was so painful π Our clothes were soaked. Our hair drenched. Sneakers were squeaking. We had to drive soaking wet back to our cold hotel. While driving back (left side of the road mind you) the roads were so narrow and windy and then the roads flooded. Oh goodness. What a day.
