Hey Everyone! I haven't done new videos in a while, as some of you know I left the position I was in for 14 years and moved on out of the educational world. That said, I have not forgotten about this channel and am almost ready to release some new content. I have been fielding a lot of questions about solar systems, and there is a ton of content about designing and installing solar system, very little about troubleshooting and diagnosing them.

So, upcoming is a four (4) part series on Solar System Troubleshooting that some of you may be interesting in. A little off my core topic of HVAC, but I think it is worth posting them. So many companies are starting to diversify and include the additional trades, this series may help someone.

Stop by, let me know additional material you may be interested in.

Did you know that my short textbook, "Basic Electrical for the HVACR Technician" is available for free on my WordPress site? Check it out. Each chapter is linked from the drop-down menu.

While they are not videos I have added a few articles to my WordPress site talking about airflow and filters. For some reason this time of year brings out the worst in filters and airflow problems. Check the pages out. I may add a video on the issue sometime soon.

Been busy working on some new content. Time to modernize some of what is here and also give those of you that want some written content to go along with the videos that options. I do continue to believe in free trade education, well not 100% free as we do have to pay some bills. But as much content as I can make available with the support of the advertisers I will do so.

So, along with that theme, I have just finished putting online a short guide to "Basic Electrical for the HVACR Technician" on my web site. It was a guide that I wrote in my undergrad years for the HVAC/R first term student, and I will be continuing to revise.
You can visit at: www.christophermolnar.com/index.php/basic-electric…

You will find all the chapters under the HVAC/R menu on the site. This will be the site I use to share written content to go along with the videos. Enjoy.

All the basics are here. There are a few videos that I need to remake, I have one more on condensate I need to post. Tell me, what else do you want to see? What part of HVAC/R do you want to know more about?

Just a quick reminder. We are trying to expand our commercial drone business. I have begun to drop videos of aerial footage using drone photography. If you are here only for HVACR please skip over those.

I just published a video of things I have wanted to say to new students for the last 10-12 years. As I am no longer working for a "Career College" I am no longer restricted on words of advise I am allowed to give students. For those of you already in the field, feel free to skip. This is probably one of the most direct videos I have ever made. But perhaps someone that needs this will see it.

Mechanical (HVACR) inspections and training are the core of my business. However, in an order to provide more complete services we are starting to use drones to provide exterior building, equipment, solar farm, and antenna inspections. You will occasionally see some drone footage posted to this channel. Enjoy or ignore, the choice is yours. I will make sure it all goes into a specific playlist so it is not confused with any of my other training videos and I will always put DRONE: into the title so you can easily skip. We have found a tremendous need for Drone inspections when roofs and equipment access is not safe for humans, for example in natural disaster zones. Do not try this on your own in the United States unless you have proper FAA licensing and drone registrations. The fines are not cheap, and you will get caught. The FAA and ATC has some pretty good radar.

On other another note I am working on videos to continue our series on refrigeration. Hope to have some more videos this week to talk about thermostats, temperature alarms, then the defrost time clock.

Finally got my refrigeration trainer built. Easy to find parts but just needed time to get it done. Look for some medium and low temp training material coming soon. Remember, my videos are designed to show the basics, with emphasis on electrical, airflow, and troubleshooting. They are not designed to replace a formal hands-on apprenticeship as you cannot do that via YouTube. My videos are designed to help you learn the basics, things every technician should know, things that I hope you remember when you get stuck in the field. Remember, there are many ways to do things in this trade, I just present you with one option and one thought process.

As our weather gets cooler, air conditioning calls slack off, it is time to work on refrigeration. This is the portion of the trade that never goes away.
