I am taking a short hiatus. If you are a member, please cancel your membership as I would not want you to pay for content that is not coming for a bit. I am not sure when I will be releasing new videos, but when I do it will probably be sporadically, so I apologize and beg your patience. As I always try to do, I will keep you guys updated here in the community tab. I do have many topics I would like to cover but I am just not in a position to record/edit new content at the moment. Hey youtube,
This week has been a thing. I've been really sick and a family member has been/still is in the hospital, so there will not be an upload tomorrow, and its likely there will not be one next Friday either. I will try to write scripts in the meantime to have videos ready for whenever I feel well enough to record, but I just wanted to keep y'all in the loop. I hope you are all staying safe and healthy. Please give your loved ones a hug today if you haven't already.
Update from two weeks in the future: The family member had a very severe stroke and spent the last few weeks in hospital, and is now being treated at a live-in facility with nurses. Please keep my family in your thoughts.

Hey all, I am not feeling well enough to record and edit tomorrow's video, so I will be postponing it for next week. It will be about the Southern Dreamlands (Sunken City, Isle of Oriab, Fantastic Realms, etc). The script is done and everything.

Hey guys, I got a new source book!
I am just getting back to focusing on Lovecraft videos. Next week is about the Dreamlands' Moon. Right now just one video a week but if I can get a stockpile of scripts written/recorded, that may bump up to twice a week in the future. We will see.
I am still very stressed about the whole dawntrail ost debacle and everything but there is nothing else I can do about it. (I contacted the SE email that was provided to me and have yet to receive a response, but they are a big company and I honestly am not expecting one at all. if you have no clue what I am talking about, see previous community post). Obviously, there will be no more OST videos. I do plan to continue with the lore videos eventually, including new videos on the Turali clans, but right now I am just chilling and playing the game.
I KNOW the Dosa class already came out in BDO and i 'should' be making a lore video for him, but honestly I just don't want to play it right now.

Bad news, everyone v_v
I had to delete all my FFXIV ost/ambience videos. Iām sad about it...but more than that Iām anxious, it copyright struck my channel and thats the first time I've had that happen.
Channels like Mekkah Dee and Uvi (there are so so so many more, but those are the first two that pop into my head and I watch the most often), who are huge in my eyes and a big inspiration, have been posting wonderful ost videos for years now, and also posted the Dawntrail ost. And their videos are still up, thankfully. So if you want to watch/listen to the XIV OST, go check their stuff out. And the YouTube copyright tool didnāt flag any of the videos when I was uploading them, either, and normally itās really on top of that and it never flagged any of my previous ffxiv videos either. I double checked SEās guidelines for making content and I didnāt break any of themā¦Itās just confusing. I also don't profit off any of my videos (I dont have ads on them or anything), while I know that some other channels doā¦itās just confusing.
I deeply apologize if anyone is sad about my videos poofing. I deleted my entire folder/category of xiv ost videos (and will be deleting more) in a panic just to be safe. Im wondering if I should delete my cutscene compilations too...It was about 100ish videos. I spent so much time recording and editing them, and I really cherished them because my old WOL design was in them and they were a lot like a scrapbook to meā¦ I am very sad that they are gone too.
Idk what else to say. Just panicking a bit and wasnāt sure what else to do, but wanted to keep you updated.

I have finished removing the ost and cutscene videos. I had missed a few in the initial purge but I went ahead and got rid of the black desert and tea time ones too that I thought might get false copyright claimed too. Honestly now Iām paranoid to upload anything because even though I followed all the rules/guidelines I still got smacked š«

Hey guys! Just a little update!
The recent heat wave has been really rough on my health and causing a lot of nausea and dizziness. I'll be taking this week off from making a Friday video just because it would involve recording and I am not well enough to do voiceovers at the moment v_v. I am still working on scripts though, so here are the next three Friday videos you can expect from me, starting next Friday (the 19th).

In other news, before I started feeling really under the weather, I got all my Gathering jobs to Level 100 and got her Dawntrail glam all sorted so I just wanted to show that off because Lex crafted it and I think it looks so good. I know I gushed about this already but I really really really love this expansion. It might be my favorite?? (sorry shb)
Anyway. Hope you all are staying cool and doing okay and drinking lots of water!
If it seems like I am sick ALL the time, it is because I am lmao, I have chronic health issues that are manageable most of the time but if I am stressed, if the weather is too hot, sometimes for no reason at all, my condition flares up and I feel bad enough to not function. It sucks and I am sure you guys are tired of hearing me say 'Im sick' but unfortunately it is just a fact of my life and I am just trying to keep you guys updated, but I dont want to just be like 'im taking the week off lol' with no like, explanation. Hope that clears things up orz

I fantasia-ed for the very first time today!
After the graphics update, my mooncat just didn't look like herself anymore. Don't get me wrong, I think the graphics update is HUGE and she definitely looks great, but she just feels and looks....not like herself. I managed to play all of Dawntrail with her and it kinda bothered me the whole time. It finally bothered me enough that I just decided to use the free fantasia and go viera. I had been considering it anyway ever since I found out there is a tribe of viera (the Shetona) in Xak Tural, which is the FFXIV equivalent to north america. I know I talk about it a lot, but I am indigenous and my tribe hails from the south eastern part of the US, so getting to see native cultures represented by the Hhetsarro (The Miqo'te tribe in Tural) and the Shetona was so so so so so wonderful. I could gush about it all day, how the Shaaloani maps feel like *home* and the music is so nostalgic. Its so exciting and wonderful to see native representation in a game that is respectful. (Dont get me started on the Cornservant questline, which emphasizes the importance and sacredness of corn in turali cultures, it made me SO HAPPY.)
Anyway, I am just announcing this because in any FFXIV videos (with the exception of any prerecorded stuff), my main will look like this! You obviously can't select Shetona in character creation but that's her new origin story: being a Shetona botanist from Xak Tural!
My partner also fantasia-ed to a viera a few days ago, because his male seeker looked COMPLETELY different. He was/is pretty upset about it, he has been playing a miqo main as long as I have.
And I have heard/seen a lot of comments from other Miqo mains about how they decided to fantasia to Au Ra or Viera because their characters just looked so different that they felt off. I personally didn't feel like the change to my mooncat was HUGE, but there definitely was a bit of uncanny valley effect, watching her walk around and be meerah-like but not exactly MY mooncat, ya know?
Anyway, the graphics update as a whole has been AMAZING. We have just been stopping to stare at textures on walls and such because its just so lovely. If you play FFXIV, what is your opinion on the update? Did your character change a lot?

Well, I finished Dawntrail!! Iām just going to post my thoughts below, spoiler free and just how I felt and my personal opinions!
Originally, I was really concerned when they announced they were doing an expansion based on irl America, because that meant taking some inspiration from us indigenous folk and our cultures, and normally media doesnt do that in a very respectful way. I was also concerned because after Endwalker, I was worried they would just forget the last ten years of story and not involve the characters we have grown to love, opting for mostly new characters and a entirely new plot (another game I used to play did this recently and it broke my heart) . But they surprised me on all fronts! I honestly think that Dawntrail is a wonderful successor to Endwalker.
Not only were the indigenous references respectful, many of them made me genuinely happy to see. The art and architectural styles were so comforting and nostalgic and it was definitely funny at first hearing some of the new characters with southern US accents (where i and my tribe hail from haha) but I love it so much, honestly. It makes me smile.
And the story, oh my gods you guys the story. I got SO invested in it. I laughed and smiled and sobbed my eyes out (I think I cried more in this expansion than I did in Endwalker??) I binged the heck out of it in just a couple days, honestly if I couldāve just NOT slept and kept playing, I would have. But sadly I canāt get away with that anymore haha. Anyway, Itās amazing. I loved it, even the parts that made me scream a little. Haha. If anyone tells you the story is boring, they clearly were not paying attention lmao. (i say this because Iāve witnessed folk saying they thought the story sucked and was boring and that just blows my mind, like, how??!)
The maps themselves are gorgeous, I plan to make some OST videos soon to showcase the scenery and music (not in spoilery locations tho). The music is AMAZING. Every song is a banger!
As I have for all of MSQ, I played a healer. Iāve mained Sage since SHB and thatās what I did again, despite the healer strike. I found the dungeons and trials to be really fun, aside from two specific dungeons that I just struggled getting the mech timing right on. But for the most part, I found all the combat related content really fun! Again, the music is just amazing. Thereās one trial in particular where I loaded in and was like āwtf this goes SO HARDā lmao
I just had a great time! Iām excited to dive into all the side content now! The FFXIV team did an amazing job and deserve all the praise, itās very clear that they put a lot of heart and love into this expansion and it shows! If I could thank them personally for all the wonderful hours of adventure and joy, I would. Just. A million thanks.
Anyway, I just needed to gush about it a bit. I go sleep now haha
