I wish to briefly address numerous defamatory statements disseminated about me by certain individuals within the wrestling community who falsely suggest that I have posted wrestling footage on indecent and prurient websites. These statements are unequivocally false. They are personally hurtful and injurious to my reputation and business. In addition, these statements have now more recently risen to a level that they are harming my safety, as well as the safety of my family. This is unacceptable and will not be tolerated any further. I will be taking legal action against those individuals who have spread false and inflammatory rumors about me in such a manner that has placed my family in fear for their safety. To all the athletes, parents and coaches in the wrestling community who have felt a sense of unease after hearing the rumors, I am sorry you have been placed in the middle of this ordeal. To the extent that you are able to, please try to reserve judgment until all the facts concerning this matter have come to light. Thank you.

Bad news and great news.
The bad news: I understand and appreciate from the steady stream of feedback that not everyone is pleased with the current focus on the black light tournament (2021 Cosmic Clash). After a check of inventory, I estimate that December 30th will be the last match I produce from that tournament, so we have roughly seven more weeks of black light wrestling.
The great news: After several years of waiting, I finally have what many of you have been asking for: college wrestling. Given the milestone this represents for the channel, I will pivot immediately to producing matches from the Michigan State Open after the Cosmic Clash, rather than waiting the eighteen or so months it normally would take to clear out of the backlog of high school tournaments that I filmed prior to it.
As a token of my appreciation for your patience and to get you excited for what's to come, I will be posting the match pictured here later today. I may even have some time to post a couple more prior to December 31st, but given my schedule, I don't anticipate having enough time to post more than a few prior to the new year.
Finally, let me close by saying thank you to each and every subscriber.
This channel began because in my spare time I was investing countless hours recording and watching hundreds of matches just to find very short clips (e.g. five seconds) of teachable situations that our state Rules Interpreters could use for our referee training courses. But, since we were only using short clips, it meant that thousands of hours of matches were just collecting dust on my computer, and I eventually realized that the wrestlers as well as their families and friends would be interested in watching them as well. Back then, I figured that might be a couple hundred people at most. I never dreamed the channel would grow to this size, and to this today I am thrilled every time I hear how the channel has helped an athlete get recruited.

"What's going on with the lighting and the colors in your latest videos? Is this going to be permanent?"
Lately, I've received a lot of questions on recent videos from the 2021 Cosmic Clashâa unique tournament where the only source of light is ultraviolet. Most of the feedback has been positive, but there are plenty who have been unhappy with the results as well. The first thing to know is that there is no such thing as permanent. I am always experimenting, and so change will always be constant. The next thing to be aware of is that I post matches in the order that I film them. That means that I will be working through all the matches I filmed at this tournament prior to moving on to the next tournament. Occasionally I post matches out of order (i.e., by special request), but with at least eighty or so matches remaining from this tournament, you can expect black light wrestling to be the predominant style for the next couple of months. Finally, the reason the video may appear less sharp than usual is because I am using a combination of spatial and temporal noise reduction, and the reason the colors don't look normal is because I am artificially brightening the image to improve visibility. Both the excessive visual noise and the lack of visibility are a direct result of the limited UV spectrum low-light conditions at this tournament. Think about it this way: When youâre blinded by pitch black darkness, you donât mind that everything you see through your night vision goggles is green, since the ability to see is far more important than accurate color representation.

I normally don't have enough time to edit more than a few matches at a time, but I wanted to clear my editing calendar to work on backlogged projects such as Wrestler Spotlights without sacrificing the regular match schedule, so I dedicated several weekends to building up enough of a schedule for six weeks of matches, which should give me the time I need to get caught up on other projects. This being the first time I've built up a match schedule that long, I also thought it would be helpful to share the schedule with you so that you can get a sneak peak at what's to come. I appreciate each and every one of you for your ongoing support, and I look forward to creating more content for you.

To the small minority of folks out there who are stealing content from the channel, I strongly encourage you to take down the content before it results in a ban. Not only will you get to keep your accounts, but it would give me hundreds of hours back that I could be using to produce additional content instead of filing DMCA reports. Thank you.

"Isn't that hair length illegal?"
tl;dr: There are no restrictions on hair length in scholastic or collegiate Folkstyle wrestling in the USA.
With the uptick in comments and questions around hair, and the rules pertaining to hair, I thought it would be helpful to clarify what the rules currently stateâbut first, a very brief historical recap. Until relatively recently, the National Federation of High School (NFHS) Associations rules pertaining to a wrestlerâs hair stated, âDuring competition all wrestlers shall be clean shaven, with sideburns trimmed no lower than earlobe level and hair trimmed and well groomed. The hair, in its natural state, shall not extend below the top of an ordinary shirt collar in the back; and on the sides, the hair shall not extend below earlobe level; in the front, the hair shall not extend below the eyebrows.â Then, in December 2018, a New Jersey official began a 90-second injury timeout in which a wrestler would need to cut his dreadlocks or forfeit the match. After this incident, the NFHS initiated a trial the following season in which one member state association would experiment with effectively eliminating any restrictions on hair length, with the exception of continuing to prohibit oils and greasy substances. The trial was successful, and the following season the NFHS expanded the rule change to the rest of the country. More details can be found at this link on the NFHS website: www.nfhs.org/articles/2020-21-high-school-wrestlinâŚ. It should also be noted that NCAA college wrestling rules pertaining to hair are similar to the recent NFHS changes, and more details on this can be found at this link: ncaaorg.s3.amazonaws.com/championships/sports/wresâŚ
