i told myself when i hit 30,000 subs a couple weeks ago that i had to take a nice photo to celebrate when i looked nice but that's not the truth. the truth is i have to stay up late af to draw or edit - i took these last night after i finished a video. the truth is i feel like a lost ghost wandering in my own life some days. but then there's this. i put my thoughts and my voice out there and a staggering amount of you have responded.
because of youtube i'm a music producer, a writer, a streamer, a voice actor, an audiobook narrator, a semipro vocalist, a video editor, a panelist, a friend. things i love being, things i used to dream of being. i believe in my own ideas, i make things and i'm happy with them regardless of any numbers attached to them. i met fans at momocon in person, i hugged people who told me how much my work meant to them and i tried not to cry but i definitely did. i am grateful to have a growing platform and i'm trying my best to use it to do good. in the world at large by making people aware of what's going on, in my videos which i hope can make people feel less alone, and in the animation world by empowering independent animators over at @animationappreciationhub. i want to do something much bigger and more important than me.
to me it's the greatest honor to be known in some capacity for what i think, and not how i look or any other point of vanity traditionally forced on afabs. i truly love weaving these videos together and seeing how people connect with them and having a dialogue, and i cherish how positive and wholesome that dialogue is. y'all have seen me in my truth and i'm so grateful for that. so i just want to say thanks for the billionth time, for hearing me and sending your thoughts back to me through the void, for building community and solidarity in our shared spaces, and for contributing to my growth as a person and creative, because i don't know who i'd be if i hadn't started this channel in 2017. all my love. keeks
