A quick update. I'm recovering from a recent surgery. I'm working on the channel when I have the energy, but the going is slow as I get tired easily. The next episode for ASL Starter Kit series is about half way finished. I'll keep picking away at it and hopefully can have it out to you guys in the next week or so.

There are five days left on the Nexus Arena Combat System campaign. This is a futuristic miniatures game where you assume the role of an alien fight manager called a Lanista and pit your bio-engineered alien gladiator called a Helot against other players in brutal (and often darkly funny) arena combat. I helped J. Scott Rumptz, the co-creator, add graphics and diagrams to his 24 episode tutorial series to illustrate the rules and key concepts as he explains them. If you're interested, check it out!

The good news is if you already own War Room it's not being replaced by the 2nd edition. Most of the changes are streamlining the games components to make it more affordable and some Quality of Life upgrades to the rules and a few graphic changes. There are also additional goodies like the Nano expansion, an upgraded design for the Morale Board, and a new quick play battle system that be packed in as well. These will also be made available separate from the 2nd edition so you can upgrade your 1st edition. Very cool!

OKAY…First, we calculate each sides Attack and Defense ratings, halving or Doubling where appropriate, THEN we determine the odds ratio, compare this to the Combat Results Table and apply any eligible column shifts based on armor and other factors, THEN we roll a six-sided die to get an Abbreviated Result, decipher it with the Explanation Of Results glossary, reduce units, resolve any determined defense and apply markers…It’s Almost too Easy
