Fatima is one of 150 #Afghan women studying in Central Asian universities.
She came to Kazakhstan in 2019 as an EU-UNDP scholarship programme winner. The initiative provides opportunities for Afghan women to study in #Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and The Kyrgyz Republic. The EU and UNDP are providing educational opportunities for Afghan women. Over 150 young women will receive scholarships to study at Central Asian Universities.

Landmines are still a looming threat in #Bosnia and Herzegovina, and continue to impact people’s safety across the country.
Originally estimated at 8.2% of the total country’s territory, the hazardous area is now down to 1.96% thanks to successful de-mining operations.
Identifying where the danger lies is the first step. Thanks to a European Union initiative, the Bosnia and Herzegovina Mine Action Centre, with assistance from the BiH Armed Forces, Norwegian People’s Aid, UNDP and EUFOR, successfully identified more than 8,000 suspected locations and created a mobile application for citizens to be aware of and avoid the locations of mine suspected areas throughout the country.
