I started posting videos of all the fascinating people, places and activities I encountered in my discovery of what an awesome city Detroit is.
I named the Channel "Detroit City - at the Heart of It" because I'm trying to show through the videos what Detroit has at the heart of it, and that's its people. Yes, it has wicked graffiti and sweet architecture and it's revitalizing like crazy... but what drew me most to Detroit was the warmth, openness and friendliness of they city's people.
When I told people I was moving to Detroit, they were like, 'You're crazy'... I call their reaction Detroit-Fear. For me, it went away through every personal interaction I had with the city's people. I actually started shooting these videos to show the naysayers what they were missing. Now popular opinion about Detroit is changing - thank goodness! But this remains a collection of colorful videos about Detroit, starting in 2013. Enjoy!!
