The Republican-controlled U.S. Senate Finance Committee on Monday released the text of the pending reconciliation bill, and it has some wins for gun rights.
The tax and budget policy measure includes both elements of the text of the Hearing Protection Act and the SHORT Act in Section 70436, “Elimination of Tax on Certain Devices Under the National Firearms Act”) provisions that remove the federal NFA taxes on:
✅ Suppressors (aka Silencers)
✅ Short-barreled rifles (SBRs)
✅ Short-barreled shotguns (SBSs)
✅ Any Other Weapons (AOWs)
