21st SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR B REFLECTION:
If someone was to ask you as a believer, "Which way would you want to follow?" It will obviously be that which leads to eternal life. The church, in this twenty first Sunday in Ordinary Time Year B, calls us to reflect on Jesus Christ who has brought us eternal life.
As Joshua gathered the people of Israel, he wanted to encourage them to join him in worshipping the living God rather than the gods which their forefathers worshipped.
In our Responsorial Psalm, the Psalmist affirms that the living God which Joshua encouraged the Israelites to worship does not fail. He hears His people's cries; He rescues the distressed; and ransoms the souls of the just from the grip of the evil one.
The Lord has the words of eternal life. Some people are skeptical about how Jesus taught. He taught that those who go to Himself and accept Him are drawn by the Father. Upon that many disciples deserted Him but when he asked His Twelve if they too want to go Peter responded that they cannot because He has the words of eternal life and is the Holy One of God.
Jesus Christ offers Himself for the Church out of love. He gives the Church, His people, the words of eternal life. In that way the Church has an obligation to be submissive to Him, the one who loves her. Jesus' relationship with the Church reflects in how the relationship between husband and wife ought to be; the wife, who signifies the Church, to be submissive to her husband, who signifies Jesus Christ. When husband and wife take example from Jesus Christ and the Church, their relationship flourish in peace and prosperity.
Jesus gives eternal life to the Church as the Husband, the head of a home as Jesus is the head of the church, offers peace and prosperity to his home. The Lord is good...

Have a blessed Sunday. Thanks.
