45 years of marriage in the books! The hand shake proves that we are still in love and partners in everything. When we complete a job well done, we always shake on it! (Smile) Now weāve started on year 46! We cannot wait to see what it brings us & looking ahead for good things. We celebrated 45 years by going out to eat, going to church for the first time since surgery, and spending the weekend with our family. We are so thankful that Sweet Hunter was able to go.
Iām telling you God has blessed us with the most beautiful family and we are more than thankful. We are very proud of our children and grandchildren. For many years we took care of them & now as we get older we notice they treat us like royalty. I canāt help but think of the fifth commandment ā¦ā¦āHonor your Father and Mother.ā And they do. And we are grateful. Thanks kiddoās! It means a lot.
A few days ago we discussed ābringing us all back home.ā We do this every year. I love to bring us all back to the basics and thatās what we will do. Right now we are finishing up garden stuff and getting ready for winter. But I think this world has took us so far away that we need to be intentional about coming back home and keeping it simple.

Our daughter Mandy took this picture when she walked in yesterday. She said it reminded her of āThe Notebookā (movie)! At first, I thought to myselfā¦..we arenāt that old!!! Lol. But that movie is a story of true love & we do have something special.
Sweet Hunter hadnāt rested good at all until I laid beside him yesterday. We were up all night, the night before with him in severe pain. They did a CT scan and little did we know, but on top of major back surgery he has multiple bilateral kidney stones!!!!! Bless his heart.
The doctor gave us the choice this morning to go home or not because of this new complication. Of course we chose home. Yāall please pray for him. Thankful for doctors and nurses and meds but thankful for home, family, friends & prayers. We probably wonāt leave until later on but I think home is where we need to be.

Thank you all for your sweet comments about us losing our Sweet friend Eddie. Never in our wildest dreams would we have ever thought this would be the last picture we would take of Sweet Hunter & The Goose together doing what they love.
Thank you to our daughter, Mandy for filling in the gaps here and on YouTube for us explaining where we were.
Thank you all for your sweet messages and comments and texts and visits. You really find out who your true friends are in bad times like these. And it also shows you how we all need to reach out more. It means a lot even if weāve never met you on this side of Heaven. We will not forget your kindness. On behalf of our family we thank you.
And now. Eddie & Vicki are together forever. Pray for their families but Most of all their children and grands. Prayers are the best gift ever.

Good morning!
This is Mandy. Iām the baby girl of Mom & Dad (aka Val & Sweet Hunter)
Most of you know my Mom lost her best friend, Vicki in 2019. They had been friends 41 years. They were like sisters.
A couple of days ago Mom and Dad lost Vickis husband. He passed away unexpectedly. He has been best friends with Dad more than 50 years and like a brother to my Mom.
They both were family to me and my sisters. Iāve never known a life without Eddie. To say we are sad is an understatement.
This is such a sad time for us all. We ask for prayers for Eddieās family, especially his children and for our family.
Mom will be back here and on Facebook on Monday. Right now they just need some time to get through all of this.
As Mom always tells usā¦..Life is short. Be kind. Hug each other. āWhile you can!ā You just never know.

Welcome to the farm as Val shares recipes & her Southern country cooking with you. She loves sharing anything from simple, quick & easy meals to teaching the basics of cooking from scratch.
