Got a Miata video wrapped but I’m sucked into the next project so I haven’t edited it yet 😅😂 it’s gunna be a two dayer for sure editing wise and I’m trying to keep building. Lol but expect it tomorrow or Wednesday! but man it’s coming along! Feels good to be over the working backwards hump. So stoked to keep plugging away on this thing. About to mount the drivetrain. Then sheet metal.
I may buy us a new fancy tool for doing the sheet metal too and I do need to do a shop upgrade video soon. I’ve got a pile of things for upgrading. And if the new tool happens I also need to make space. The clutter in the compressor corner is also driving me nuts. Lol
How’s everyone’s weeks going!?

Miata’s coming along! Not much more on the elaborate chassis fab and we get to do the easy part of putting it together. A friend who does chassis stuff reminded me this car doesn’t have any intrusion bars. It’s not FD legal because of the aftermarket front subframe (new one came in) but I still wanted to add them while the floor was out. Way easier to weld. But also the hardest thing I’ve ever tig welded access wise. Lol
Anyway. Bout to weld the new frame rails in. And then start making floors! Still have to do a tube crash structure for the front. And tube rear. But that’s a lot simpler than this stuff. I’m so excited to get this thing done. But I’m also enjoying the process.

I know the people who don’t pay attention and won’t see this will be the ones giving me crap. Lol but just to update the real homies, I’m hustling away on the Miata.
But I also went to the equipment auction with josue since the auctions tomorrow. So I’m juggling both these videos at the moment. Plan to finish Miata video today and upload tomorrow but if I actually win a piece from the auction I may have to go pick it up. So we’ll see 😅😂 would be easier to edit up the auction video but don’t want people to think I forgot about building cars. Lol
Working on getting back to a two video a week schedule. I had the realization while I was making the rear top plate for the golf carts foot rest deal that as I try to improve my work. Everything just takes so long vs younger me just throwing it together as good enough. I was always a believer in the 75/25 rule (25% effort gives you 75% result. Requires 75% more effort. For the last 25% result) but I also wouldn’t enjoy this if I wasn’t trying to do the best work I can. So even when I’m going full tilt. Stuff just takes forever.
Anyway. That’s where we’re at! Making big cuts in the Miata and rebuilding. It’s coming along nicely! See if you can spot the change on the Miata so far.

Well I said Tuesday… meant tomorrow 😅 I’m curious everyone’s opinion on this.
Would you rather wait longer for a more complete video with the intended payoff of finishing the given projects and seeing results. Or get the video sooner without the satisfaction of the full payoff?

I’m still alive… lol this weather and this project has been brutal. Picked a not so great time for an outside project and I can’t call it until I got everything done I wanted to get done. I may have also rabbit holed a bit on it and some other side quests during my rain delays But it was super satisfying 😂 see you Tuesday!

Back at it! Doing all the hard work first with the chassis stuff but it’s coming along nicely. Also got some super exciting new parts in.

been going through the archives to find throwback footage for this video so it’s taken a bit but it’s so worth it. it’ll be up tomorrow. Officially the end of an era. No more LS Miata. Gotta say it’s bittersweet. Excited for what’s to come. But man this car had a good run. Also the engine had some very very unexpected surprises. Lol you’ll be surprised.
Also we should be back to two videos a week from here on out! Atleast for a bit. Just spent some time planning this week before starting on the car and we’re about to be full throttle on 2-3 builds at once! Stoked! I’ve missed this. Building cars is so rewarding.
Also editing this video made me really miss comp drifting so we gotta get back in the game! What do you thinks next for this thing?

Update post hurricane Milton. We got it pretty bad here for being inland. Lots of trees down branches. Etc. power been out for two days now and looking like next week at the earliest for us to have power again. My grandmas condo complex flooded but she only got water in her sunroom thankfully but it was pretty bad. I could barely get to her place with my truck to check in on her. Lots of flooding in my town. Several roads collapsed.
I’m working on a video. Feels wrong to make two hurricane influenced videos back to back. But I’ve been filming the prep before during and cleanup. Anyway. Fingers crossed we can finally start building some dang ole cars here soon.

Well josue and Rualdo got some work done on the turbo truck while I was gone. But I got in late last night and it’s strait into hurricane prep. This one’s rough. Cat 5 and most models show it going right over us. It’s looking to be the worst one I’ve ever experienced in my 20 years as a Floridian. So I’m not sure what content looks like for the next week + I have a video kinda filmed from my desert offroad trip to look at vehicles. Also may have some time tomorrow to get more done on the truck. But we may be without power for weeks with the crews already having their hands full from Helene. That’s if everything’s still intact on the other side of this. So bare with us. Hopefully it’s not too bad and we can get back to building cars once this is over.
The irony that we finally have the shop dialed. Ready to start a major build. And we get back to back hurricanes. Sorry if there’s another hurricane related video next but we deal with the cards we got.

We like to do a little bit of everything here. From race cars to tow rigs to workshop upgrades and property upgrade projects. The motto is why pay someone to do it when we can do it ourselves and learn in the process. as much as I love drifting, i also enjoy upgrading and driving anything involving an engine. wheels not required.
