6 years later and the WORST thing in Germany is STILL the Blitzers... I always get tickets, 'cause im used to being pulled over by the police in America (only like once or twice though ;)) - we dont really use Blitzers near my hometown so it still seems so new to me, especially since I drive much less here in Europe than I do in California.

That being said,

I got a 50 € ticket in Hamburg last week for going 43km/h in a 30km/h zone (a zone that appeared to be a temporary contruction zone). 13 km/hr = 8.07 mph OVER the speed limit. In California, the cops normally allow at least 10mph over with no problems.

My excuses still did not stop the ticket from being paid.

Maybe im complaining because with blitzers, I am not allowed to negotiate with the officer at my window about why I should be given a second chance. Its kinda poetic in a way; to plead your innocence or ask for mercy. Blitzers on the other hand, they arent as willing to bargain as an officer in a blue uniform might be. Their decision is made before you even get the view to see them standing there behind those bushes!

"Was that there last week?", you think to yourself...

"SheiebenkƤse!! They put up a new one since I was here last week!"

Your fault or not its time to pay the Blitzer Fee.

This mistake, and many others, proves I still have a lot more to learn in my travels!!

Even in these small inconviences, I truly enjoy discovering these minor differences in country and culture; even if expanding my experience and worldview occasionally costs me 50 euros! :)

Will I spill my seeds on rocky soil? Wasting my inheritance for expedient pleasure?

Will I delay the truth?
Will I trade what I know for a fleeting moment?

Do I exchange a bowl of soup for my soul in a rage of hunger?

Where is the Water of Life?
My thirst is never quenched!

My throat is parched.
I cry out for a savior.
A sign.

Sustenance of a Spiritual kind.
My soul is weary; where is my Redeemer?
Where is the oasis in this desert?

I sought after the lusts of my flesh and saw the grandeur of future glory fade like a mirage in the distance; beckoning fools from the straightforward way.

The gift of creativity twisted - I conjured up images of feast, of beautiful women and status, in a city I have never been.

Yet I am just a beggar,
And my desire led me from high ground into this lowly Valley.

Still, as I crawl along the sands of this desert, my intuition has not left me.
It stands as a pillar, in silence, hidden by the dark of night.

My intuition watched as I fought it, betrayed it, ignored it.
It wept as it observed my downfall with mournful eyes. I had chosen the path that led me here to this wasteland, ignoring the signs appearing before me.

And in this moment of sorrow, I find hope. Because even in my despair, I am aware of the presence of this intiuition. It still speaks in a whisper within me. It does not remind me of my unfaithfulness. In the quiet of my mind, it leads me, even now...

Away from the desolate frivolities of life. Away from empty ideas and promises of status on a burning stage. Towards quiet rivers, in calm pastures.

I know that even though I currently crawl through The Valley of the Shadow of Death...there my intuition leads me; unwavering in its loyalty.

And because of Him I have Hope.

She sat smiling as she stared across the clattering red rooftops of shingled streets, neatly organized in rows like apples near the shimmering opal ocean; a crown jewel of this once great nation’s past - world-renowned explorations into the realms of that which remain fantasy to those who read it from the pages of time. Yet here, in this moment, she is part of what made this place a destination for all with wanderlust the size of a mustard seed; for eons ago, as it seems, the same sweet smile shone as a beam of hope across these seas to shores not yet touched by human eyes. And there, when her eyes touched mine…I saw that which we all long to find…something much more valuable than the treasures found on the shores of distant coasts.

Love.

That which drives us from the sands of comfort to risk that which gives us life for that which our life longs to give itself for.

And now, even today, as I write these words, that same glimmer of hope remains as a kernel of courage, prompting me to paddle just a little longer through these stormy seas…

For land is not far off… And one day, I am certain…

I will find you again

Did you know Ceylon is the former name of Sri Lanka? It’s where we get the name Ceylon Tea (a form of black tea grown in Sri Lanka). Random Fact.

Just released a video from 6 years ago…filmed during my college football days at USC… I kept it on private because the social media rules were different back then. I’m glad I still have it to inspire those of you who want to play in college or accomplish anything difficult in life. Let me assure you that the work is worth it and the memories last forever #fighton BOOM BABY LETS GO!!!

Ps- this is how my YouTube channel started. Filming my experiences as a player. From there I was able to play in Germany and travel all over the world after that. For this opportunity I am truly grateful. All praised to God šŸ™
