In 1974 Ismail Moosa opened the first Khaliques shop at the Oriental Plaza. The business focused on providing customers with traditional business wear, suits, shirts, shoes and accessories. Khaliques soon gained the reputation as the destination for Johannesburg businessmen.
At this time Ismail, to his friends, taught his sons about the value of hard work and a deep understanding of servicing and understanding of customer needs. In those days it was simple, "you get to know your customers and provide them with quality and value for money and they'll come back - time and again."
Ismail's son and grandsons have built on his principles. Two additional stores were opened, in Sandown at the heart of busy Sandton and at Cedar Square in Fourways.
38 years on, the Khaliques brand continues to function on the principles of the founder, his legacy is alive and well. A symbol of style which has become an institution amongst savvy businessmen who know what they want.
