The "Mother-n-Son-Duo" Smt Uma Josyula (79) and her younger son Sailesh Josyula are enthusiastic musicians who have founded a multi-lingual devotional singing group "Swarārnava - the ocean of music" to take music to the Bhaktas and Rasikas alike.
Uma is a Carnatic & Hindustani Classical Singer, Writer, Poet and Humorist. She has learnt from Dr M Balamuralikrishna, Sri NCV Jagannathacharyulu & Shri Satyabhanu Sharma. She's been conferred "Woman Achiever Award" & "AP State Government Award". Sailesh is a Teacher by profession, Hindustani Classical Singer, Keyboard Player and Storyteller. He has learnt from Sri Raghunath Talegaonkar and Agra Gharana. He has been conferred "Uttama Upadhyaya" Award.
The musical duo blends the inherent Carnatic element in songs with a distinctive Hindustani touch, also - folk. They have composed more than 500 songs in Telugu, Sanskrit, Hindi, Tamizh etc. They have released albums on Pancha Bhootams, Navagrahas, Rivers & Mountains - to name a few.
