When I started this channel 8 years ago, I never imagined it would grow to over 100K subscribers. Last week, I was honored to receive the YouTube Silver Play Button for reaching this milestone. I want to sincerely thank everyone who has supported this journey—those who granted interviews, watched the videos, and provided feedback. I'm especially grateful for the incredible people I've met and the friendships I've made while traveling across the country. Thank you all! I'm excited to continue documenting the history of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.

This past weekend, I had the privilege of visiting the Vietnam Veterans Memorial during the Father's Day Rose Remembrance. It was a poignant moment, surrounded by families honoring their loved ones. The sacrifice of the 58,000 servicemembers who gave their lives between 1957 and 1975 will never be forgotten.

Last week, I had the privilege to visit the Captain Jeff Kuss Memorial in Smyrna, Tennessee. It's an incredible tribute, with immaculately manicured grounds and a stunning F/A-18 Hornet that serves as a poignant reminder of his incredible life of service. Captain Jeff Kuss's dedication and bravery continue to inspire, and the memorial beautifully honors his legacy. His life was tragically cut short on this date in 2016, but his spirit lives on through this moving tribute.

I've recently been traveling to record interviews with some extraordinary current and former Blue Angel and Thunderbird pilots. There's much editing work ahead to shape these incredible stories, but I wanted to share a photo of former Vietnam POW and Thunderbird flight leader, Brig. Gen Jim Latham (Ret.). A couple of weeks ago, he shared his experiences in depth. It was an incredible honor, and I'm excited to share his narrative on this channel in the coming months.

Check out this stunning photo of two Blue Angel F4 Phantoms executing a knife-edge pass at a 1972 Galveston, Texas airshow. Piloted by LCDR Skip Umstead (#5) and Lt Steve Lambert (#6), this moment was captured by Phillip Cook using a Minolta 35 mm camera.

If you share my passion for tracing the history of jets once part of the Blue Angels, then you'll find this intriguing. Pictured below is a TA-4J Skyhawk, with the bureau number 158722. This aircraft now resides at the USS Lexington Museum in Corpus Christi, TX, adorned in its fleet colors. However, it boasts a storied past as the #7 jet for the Blue Angels, having once carried celebrities such as Tom Cruise and Christopher Reeve.

I hope you all had a chance to watch my recent interview featuring Boss Russ Bartlett, the Blue Angels Commanding Officer and Flight Leader from 2003 - 2004. In conjunction with the upload, I wanted to share some photos from the 2004 Salinas Airshow where Boss Bartlett and the Blues paid a wonderful tribute to my grandfather, Roy "Butch" Voris, by giving him a JATO shot in Fat Albert and presenting him with an iconic yellow helmet. Throughout the course of our interview, my thoughts often drifted back to that evening in Salinas, and the privilege of reconnecting with Boss Bartlett. My gratitude for the profound bond I shared with Butch, and the kindness bestowed upon me by the Blue Angels alumni, is immeasurable. Their example of conduct and generosity continues to inspire me, and I aspire to extend the same level of kindness to all I encounter on my personal journey.

In 1974, the A4 Skyhawk made its debut season with the Blue Angels, replacing the F4 Phantom. To help facilitate this transition, the season commenced in May instead of the traditional March kickoff. Be sure to watch the most recent episode of the Blue Angel Phantoms Podcast, featuring Boss Tony Less, who was the Team's inaugural Commanding Officer in 1974. https://youtu.be/MAsW2J4OCek?si=x8roj...
