I keep thinking about Rey and Kylo's duel on the wreckage of the second Death Star and why I enjoy it as much as I do.
In many ways, its an inverse of Anakin vs Obi-Wan on Mustafar.
Where Anakin and Obi-Wan's duel was fast, precise, and full of spectacle, Rey vs Kylo is Raw, unrefined, and subdued.
The Mustafar Duel was set in a dark, firey hellish landscape of fire and heat.
Rey vs Kylo is set in a cold, watery, rainy setting.
The Mustafar Duel has bombastic music accompanying it.
The Rey vs Kylo Duel has very little music at all.
One thing that ties both of these duels together is that all combatants involved were brought to this point by a single common denominator. That being Palpatine.
I really love both of these duels, and I do think that Anakin vs Obi-Wan is overall more impactful, but something about how raw and aggressive the fight between Rey and Kylo is really gets me pumped each time.
I know some people hate this Duel, but I think its one of the most underrated fights in the saga.
