Friday, August 15, 2025, at 9:30 AM (EST), I will answer the question that seems to keep coming up in the translation discussion. Was the purpose of the NKJV's footnotes to create doubt in the Bible or give you a way to create your own bible? This is often called the deciding factor in whether the KJV or NKJV are really Traditional Text translations, but I think there is a better way to look at this. It used to confuse me years ago concerning why the NKJV would have completely different names for certain animals than the KJV. The Born Again Barbarian YouTube channel pointed this out in a video titled "The NKJV is NOT an Updated KJV" without an answer of "why?" and on Friday (7/25/25) at 9:30 AM (EST), I have decided to give the answer to "why?" this is the case. The Gideons International have provided Bibles in hotel rooms and small testaments for years usually in the KJV translation. But, they also provide a second English translation for those who have trouble in reading the King James. It was the NKJV, but now is an unusual ESV. The story around this change is very interesting.
