🔊 Speaking Out on a Tough but Necessary Issue
I was recently invited to speak on a national TV panel regarding a heartbreaking incident — the sexual abuse of a young child by a school van driver in Lucknow.
As a psychiatrist, I felt it was important to address:
The long-term psychological trauma survivors face
The silence and stigma that families often battle
The role of schools, society, and mental health professionals in prevention, awareness, and healing
To every survivor, I want to say:
I’m so sorry this happened to you. It’s not your fault.
You deserve to feel safe, supported, and joyful again — and we’re here to help.
These conversations are never easy, but silence only fuels the problem.
