For my Ham subscribers - Yaesu has several of their radios on sale with steep discounts this Black Friday. I stopped by my local Ham Radio Outlet and picked up a new FT5D for about $140 less than normal. I normally don't go for the very expensive HTs but this was an offer that was too hard to refuse. Other vendors such as Gigaparts also have the Yaesu radios at discounted prices. Whoo Hooo.

August 2nd proved to be an exciting day here at the Gadget Talk channel. First, we passed 10,000 subscribers! Thanks to each of you who clicked the subscribe button so you're made aware when we post new content. Yeah!
Next, a new Yaesu FTM 500D Dual band mobile radio arrived. I'll be doing an overview video and some separate feature videos on this new flagship radio from Yaesu over then next few months. This is a bit of a departure from the low and mid priced radios I've reviewed on the channel, but I know some of you are interested in more expensive and feature packed radios. I plan on using this as a base station, despite it being designed for mobile ops.
