Not getting a WHOLE bunch of comments on this, just gotten a couple, but usually when one is saying this, there's at least a dozen thinking this: Yes, I'm going to keep doing Groovy Grab Bag. It's been keeping me happy, busy, and sober. When I was making those big bold claims that LMC was coming back, I was still drinking. I had no idea how much of an anchor this project was going to be in my life, how important it was going to be for me.

I promise if the passion and the drive hits me to do a lost media video, I'll do it. Please continue to enjoy the content that I have. You are under no obligation to watch my new stuff. I'm doing this project more for me and my self exploration than I am for anyone else right now. Please respect this.

Blue Nile video still in the works. Also likely to deliver my thoughts on the "LOL Superman" video in September (spoiler alert, it likely doesn't exist, and that's coming from my 9/11-obsessed ass).

Hey guys, those of you waiting for my next Groovy Grab Bag episode, the video is currently rendering! It'll probably be up a liiiitle bit later than expected, closer to midnight going into July. Just a slight delay, shouldn't affect production for the future episodes too terribly much.

I had to put one of my rats down yesterday and I couldn't bring myself to do any video editing with how upset I was. I'm doing okay! You sadly end up getting used to this as a rat owner as they don't live very long and you end up having to get multiple at a time. Amazing animals, though.

Hey guys, just an update. The book I was using as a reference for The Blue Nile video is considered controversial. There's another book that is considered a better source, but it's out of print and the digital copy glitches out in Kindle. That project has hit a road block for now.

I got something else on the way, though, that I'm excited for. Stay tuned!

Hello all. Jeez, what a year it's been. I'm really sorry for my inactivity, guys. New subscribers, welcome. Old subscribers, thank you for sticking around.

So where the hell have I been and am I ever going to come back? The first part is a complicated answer, but the second part is an easy "yes".

Firstly, I had a financial crisis and I had to move back in with folks for about 10 months of my life. They set pretty stern rules that I was to not do any video production while under their roof. So no videos ever got completed during this time. Luckily I got promoted at my job and have been able to afford a place of my own.

Let's get to the nitty gritty, though. You guys probably miss my content, whether you watched my vinyl series, my lost media stuff, or if you were into my 2001 series. Let's get into that:

1.) Lost Media Chronicles comeback? - This is a possibility. After the drama that ensued from 2018 (mostly caused by my own misdeeds) I had a sour taste in my mouth as far as being part of that community. I sometimes feel like I'm not welcome back into it. I mean, yes, I'm not coming back to the wiki ever, but I've come to peace with that. However, I've started getting back into researching lost media. There's a lot of topics I've discovered new things on, some really fascinating stuff from a Scottish trio that lit their mastertapes on fire to the actual very first jazz recording. I'm still thumbing over it.

2.) Adventures in Vinyl Land officially over. - I'm really sorry to say but my financial crisis lead to me having to sell my entire record collection as a result. Between lacking the mental energy to rebuild the collection and not wanting to sink the money into it, I have no desire to bring this back. I had a lot of fun and those videos are still some of the best my channel had to offer, but it's time to move on.

3.) Heavier, more thorough research. - After seeing HBomberGuy rip into James Somerton, I've decided that I'm going to put THAT much more effort into making sure my facts are straight. Never been a plagiarist, so we can say that much, but I've made some factual mistakes in my past. I know I've had a tendency in the past to make verbal mistakes and not fix them, get some facts wrong and not address them... This is no longer going to be the case. I'm going to make sure that my research is as accurate as possible before spitting out a video. I'm going as far as to track down interviews, documentaries, and obscure books to get to the meat and potatoes here.

4.) Traveling. - I want to make travel part of my projects. While I don't have the means to make a full film production possible, I've recently started making about enough money to start making trips possible. I don't just want to tell the stories of the media I'm talking about, I want to visit the places where they were made (without harassing others). Take myself and my viewers on a tour of the cities and places where creators, writers, artists, and musicians would frequent.

5.) Wrapping up the 2001 project. - When I sold my records my drive to complete this series also died. However, I'm more than happy to finally tackle it now. I just won't have the LP's to show off anymore. Well, except for the hip-hop section, which I filmed and edited together and... never posted because I've just been feeling so disconnected.

6.) Change in style. - You guys have seen me hop between being on camera and off. You've seen videos I've made where I was entirely off-camera. Well, hope you like my face because I'm going to be on camera all the time now. Watch my 2001 series for a taste. I think my vocal presence and personality shines better when I'm not constantly using a script. I mean, I'm still going to write out an outline of things I want to say and items to cover, but it really helped me sound less robotic, even if I sound a bit nervous here and there. Not that I'm not going to show pictures and stuff of what I'm talking about, but think more in line of the style of Jeremy Jahns or Anthony Fantano but with a bit more structure.

I really look forward to making more content for you guys. Sorry for my disappearance. I'm going to make my 10th year as a channel my best one yet!

Hey guys, I know I haven't been posting lately and that's because of YouTube. I have 4 new videos for my 2001 series finished and waiting, but getting the most recent one has been struggling to upload. First attempt took a week then got cancelled by YouTube. 2nd upload got halfway and then cancelled again. This most recent one got 100% uploaded and now it's stuck on 95% processing for the last 3 fucking days. I can't post the next 4 without confusing my viewers because I reference albums that were reviewed in this particular vid. I don't want to have to restart the upload process again, but that's what it's looking like I'll need to do unless you guys have any other ideas.

Also, it's not my internet, as the other 4 videos are uploaded and ready to go. YouTube just hates this file for some reason.
