Every business owner feels it at some point—that fear of failure lurking in the background. Whether it’s launching a new product, hiring someone, or just making a big decision, fear can sneak in and try to control our actions.
Here’s the thing: fear of failure is natural. But letting it hold you back? That’s optional.
In business, we need to be able to move forward with confidence—even when the outcome isn’t guaranteed. After all, if we let fear dictate our decisions, we risk staying stuck and missing out on growth opportunities.
So, how do you overcome this fear?
In this video, Abby breaks down a few strategies for pushing through fear and embracing the risks that come with growth.
Comment below: When was a time you had to push through despite fear, and what was the result?

How do you know you're hiring the right person?
The truth is, you don't. You never know if the person in front of you is being their true self and can do what they say they can do, until they start. And you can't predict how their life is going to go. Maybe they are a great hire, but after a month they have a sick family member and need to move to help take care of them.
You may not be able to predict how long someone will stick around, but there is one tactic I like to use to make sure they can actually get the job done.
I recently had a client choosing between 2 candidates: One looked great on paper, "talked the talk," and appeared to be the clear choice for the job. The other didn't have as much experience on paper, but he could tell from talking to her that she was sharp and tenacious.
He kept going back and forth on who to hire, so finally I had to him give them each a test assignment. He gave them a scenario of something that could actually happen in their role and how they would handle it.
Candidate #1 ended up not even answering the question. He used lots of fancy jargon on why he would be questioning the situation and its validity, but never gave an answer on what to actually DO in the scenario.
Candidate #2 gave an answer, and it was the correct one.
My client went with Candidate #2 who just finished her first 60 days in the business and is thriving in the position.
So, if you are unsure if someone can actually perform the job, ASK THEM. Just give them an assignment and see if they can pull it off.

In case you didn't hear already, we are creating a free community for business owners to network, interact, share wins and struggles, and of course GROW together!
This community will also have free exclusive content from the team here at Matterhorn!
We sent out a survey earlier this week to see which name you guys liked best, as well as surveying over on our YouTube channel.
But the results are tied! We also had the same name get suggested a few times and wanted to throw it in the ring.
So please take a quick moment to vote in round 2 (it doesn't matter if you missed round 1!) and hopefully we will have clear winner from there!
I appreciate your help in this! This community is for YOU so I want you to have input on what it's called!
