When confronted with a diagnosis of Parkinsonism, people want to know, "Is there anything I can do to slow, stop, or reverse progression?" Almost all patients have the same question.
I've spent the past 20 years studying nutrition, neurology, epidemiology. I spent the first 10 years of my naturopathic medical practice seeing patients with general neuro concerns; the past 10 years my practice has been exclusively devoted to patients with Parkinsonism.
As a researcher, I study lifestyle variables associated with rate of PD progression and am trying to describe what nutrients are especially needed in PD and figure out how best to deliver them.
In clinic and in lectures I find myself answering the same questions over and over. I don't claim to have all the answers, just some experience, ideas, and suggestions.
