Yes, that feels good. I just deleted all my music from Spotify.

Want to know why?

1) Spotify CEO invests in military AI
Spotify’s CEO, Daniel Ek, invested over $113 million in Helsing AI, a company developing AI-powered defense technology. As musicians, we don’t create art to support more efficient killing machines.

2) CEO's controversial claim: music creation is "free"
Daniel Ek has stated that content creation, including music, is "free" or costs very little. This may be true for him, considering how little Spotify compensates artists, but for musicians like me, the reality is very different. My equipment alone costs more than a standard car, and that’s not even accounting for the investment in music education, distribution fees, mastering, and other production costs.

3) Unfair compensation model
Spotify’s payment structure is deeply flawed. Only around 0.4% of musicians on the platform make enough to earn a livable wage. Furthermore, the first 1000 streams don’t earn artists any money. Meanwhile, Daniel Ek has made more money from Spotify in a single year than some of the most successful musicians have throughout their entire careers.

4) Low audio quality on Spotify
The sound quality on Spotify is notably poor due to the heavy compression they apply. Compared to platforms like Bandcamp, which offer high-fidelity downloads, the difference is significant. Listening to low-bitrate music for extended periods can diminish your overall listening experience and even impact your brain's perception of sound.

5) Spotify does not accept my long tracks. They claim I am uploading a DJ mix and that I should break it into individual parts. But no, I'm not uploading mixes—just music that goes beyond the typical radio length of three minutes because I want to offer an experience that transports you to a special musical world for longer than just three minutes. Other streaming platforms also don't allow me to upload longer tracks. In the past, symphonies lasted over 20 minutes. Nowadays, many people lose focus after just three minutes. I don't want to support this development and will continue to share music that lasts between 10 and 120 minutes.

6) Closer contact with listeners
I value direct interactions with my audience, which is why I prefer platforms like YouTube and Bandcamp. On Bandcamp, I can see who buys my music, engage with listeners directly, and build stronger connections with my community.

I'm working on my next long video! How do you like the sound compared to my recent videos? I aimed to make it punchier while keeping it natural.
