New upload - I believe this to be one of the most useful tools for getting better. This can be done at any skill level and is useful for both you and your training parters. It's how I train around 80% of the time depending on the context and what I am getting ready for. Highly recommend adding this style of training to your current routine. Enjoy!

Podcast is finally LIVE on all platforms. Spotify, Apple, Amazon, YouTube etc. This is a work in progress and really happy to release my first episode with my friend and training partner Satoshi Ishii.
Logos, name etc are not final so open to any suggestions as well as future guests. We have about 5 episodes already recorded that will launch weekly and will continue to do more. Let me know your thoughts.

Here is a simple and efficient technique that illustrates a very important concept in standing position for BJJ, control after the takedown. Low amplitude takedowns give you the most control once the match hits the ground, for BJJ this is the most important factor when deciding what takedowns to invest your time in developing. This is a prime example of that. https://youtu.be/t0cs4a1L91Q?si=-VzBY...

Traveling the world, teaching seminars, and building connections is incredible, and I love it. But being home and settling into a routine is something I miss. Someone asked me today how it feels to unwind after a major competition, and how I decompress and step away from the stresses of what I do. The truth is, I love the stress, I love the pain, and I love the process and routine. When this is your job and your livelihood, jiu-jitsu isn’t an escape from life — it is your life. And while that’s great, it comes with the same ups and downs as any other profession. Like anything worth doing, it comes at a high cost.
With that said, something I truly miss is archery. I found out today that it's hunting season here in Italy, and I’m grinding my teeth wishing I had a bow and a tag. I genuinely believe that even just a few hours a week spent shooting my bow has kept me sane and helped prevent burnout from training. After a session, my mind feels clearer than ever, and I’m more open to learning and training with a fresh perspective. Just a few more weeks on the road, and I’ll be back in my routine, training and shooting again.

Cool throwback from my phone memories today. First time me and Gordon rolled together back in Boston during my days teaching at Bernardo Faria Academy. Good memories.
