I need to crowd source some help. I'm looking for a lightweight foam core that won't break the bank and comes in 1/4"-1/2" sheets. CarbonCore 2lb PU would be perfect, but they're set up to sell in bulk to businesses, not consumers. Does anyone have a source for a lightweight structural foam that can be bought locally or that sells direct to consumers? Best I've found so far is $212 for 96 sq.ft. with shipping.

Edit: I think I finally found something! It's 2lb density, 1/4" thick sheets, and cost WAY less than any of the alternatives I've found.

Just dropped almost $500 on materials for the kayak build! Holy crap it's happening! I'm hoping to have the first video out sometime in January! Happy New Year!

What's your biggest frustration with regard to making carbon fiber/composite parts? What do you find confusing, daunting, or just downright frustrating? Looking for helpful videos I can make in the next couple months.

One long, comprehensive video or multiple smaller, more frequent videos for my next build? As a complement to my kayak paddle video (have you watched it yet?), I'm gearing up to build a carbon fiber kayak from scratch as well. However, this is a huge undertaking! It's going to take a few months at least, and I'd like to know whether you'd like frequent update videos or you'd prefer one comprehensive video at the end of the project (which could be August or later). Which do you prefer?
