I am asking for everyone to please pray for Flint city Councilman Quincy Murphy.

He has been in the hospital and from what I’m told it’s very serious. I pray for him and his family.

The "Fabulous Five" decided to go on vacation, which is why there hasn't been a council meeting in the last two weeks. They are expected to be back this week. While on vacation, Lewis has been working hard in the parks.

One of Councilman Eric Mays most prominent pundits, City Attorney William Kim, has resigned.

In Kim’s resignation letter, he wrote, “I am proud of the progress made by the City of Flint in general, and the Law Department in particular, in positioning the City for success over the next decades.”

Kim began working for Flint as an assistant city attorney under the supervision of former city attorney Angela Wheeler in 2015 before assuming the position of city attorney in 2022.

Per the city charter, Chief Deputy City Attorney Joseph Kuptz will serve as the acting city attorney when Kim resigns on July 26.

The city stated that it will post the position and seek applicants from both inside and outside the organization.

Flint Mayor Sheldon Neeley expressed his gratitude to Kim for his dedicated service in a recent statement.

“I wish Attorney Kim the very best in his new position and thank him for his service to the residents of Flint,” Neeley said. “Mr. Kim has helped guide the City of Flint through turbulent times over the past nine years, and I congratulate him on the next step in his career.”
