The role of echocardiography has dramatically changed over the past decade and use of functional echocardiography has become increasingly popular among neonatologists. There is also a growing interest and enthusiasm in point-of-care ultrasound (POC-US) as an aide to traditional examination techniques in assessing acutely unwell newborn infants. However, both currently remains the domain of a relatively small handful of neonatologists.
The purpose of this channel is to encourage the implementation of neonatal echocardiography, morphological and functional, and also spread off current possible applications of the POC- US technique in the neonatal intensive care unit environment.
