HUTCH (now JOE NORMAL®), is hailed as a working class hero. AmericanaUK calls Joe "an American Ray Davies." Originally from New Jersey, Joe was co-founder / lead guitarist of Sunset Strip glampop legends The Zeros and gets compared to Paul Westerberg, Jesse Malin, and Evan Dando.
After several releases, a tour and opening slots for Tonic, The Proclaimers, and Debbie Gibson (w/ The Hutchinsons), Joe released his 1999 HUTCH EP and appeared with Chef Bobby Flay on TV's Food Nation representing L.A.
HUTCH signed to Smile Records, and released Turn It Around in 2002, touring regionally in support of the album. The band opened for Elliott Smith, Dramarama and The Smithereens, and had songs featured in TV's Roswell and Elijah Wood's Day Zero film. Joe co-wrote Sammy Hagar's "Not 4 Sale" album title cut, and HUTCH reclaimed his JOE NORMAL moniker in 2009.
PowerPop fans MUST hear the JOE NORMAL & THE ANYTOWN'RS CD, a Guitar-Pop power trio with a Cheap Trick + Brian Jones era Stones sound.
