Iām in Jaffna (ą®Æą®¾ą®“ąÆą®ŖąÆą®Ŗą®¾ą®£ą®®ąÆ) where Iām filming my first on-location video about the languages of Sri Lanka.
Iāve finally finished filming everything for my upcoming video on myths about American English. But Iāve had a very frustrating day today with slow computer running out of space.
I decided to do some on location shooting for my next video, but didn't realise the impact that trains and cars and planes might have (no boats). The upside was that I did get talking to some people who asked what I was doing.
I'm researching Myths about American English for an upcoming video. Which myth would you like to see me explore?
Looks like I might be doing a collaboration with the great @simonroper9218 soon. What might you want us to talk about?
Latest video is taking a whileā¦ I get more ambitious with the visual effects each time. Nearly there though.
Have you noticed the new verb construction in American English? āTo go ahead and do somethingā = āto do somethingā. I just watched a tutorial where the speaker went ahead and created an environment and then went ahead and added a projector, went ahead and downloaded some assets and then went ahead and made a cool render.
Go ahead and tell me if youāve come across this and go ahead and let me know if you feel that going ahead and doing things is different from just doing them or if itās a verbal tic.
I have a lifelong passion for languages, pronunciation, accents - you name it. The purpose of this channel is to share that passion in a fun, entertaining and informative way. I would love for more people to know how truly amazing human languages are and encourage people to learn them and learn more about them. I love to promote languages with fewer speakers, especially those that have been oppressed. I hate to hear that people were told not to speak their language and that it doesn't have value.
