🌟I tried something new...🌟

At the beginning of 2024 World tour, I decided to try something new… for there would be a lot of time alone. So I started learning something that I had been wanted to try…MAKING ANIMATION BY MYSELF!!
In these half year I have been working on making this video. On the airplane, on the floor at the airport in early morning…and finally I made it!
Because the lyrics of this song are all in Japanese, I showed both Japanese lyrics and English translation in this video, so that my friends around the world can understand the meaning.
I hope you like it…and say “Kawaii♡” together with me again in the near future!

⭐️Story about my original song "California Dreams"⭐️
Everyone thinks this song is about my hometown, or a song for someone I loved in the past, but it’s not true…actually this is a love song for an tiny old apartment I used to live in Tokyo.
In mid 2010s, I was living in this small apartment in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. I lived there because it was the cheapest room I could find.
The building was old traditional Japanese style, and the room size was “Yojyo-han”, or 4.5 tatami mats, that is the smallest size of room in Japanese houses.
We had shared entrance and toilet, and no shower. So I had to walk 10 minutes to visit Japanese public bath called “Sento”.
This apartment was really cheap, the rent was only 30000JPY (about $200!).
I decided to live there because I wanted to pursue my dream to be an artist, though I had no money.
Some people told me to stop being stupid, but I decided to believe myself and moved into this room. (I know they were nice friends and just worried about me, but at that time I didn’t want my dream to be disturbed…)
Contrary to their concerns, this apartment was great. The neighborhood was calm, although it was only 4 minutes walk from one of the biggest stations in Tokyo. The location was perfect, for I was making my own living by performing on the street at that time.
I composed a lot of songs in the room.
When I got a chance to perform abroad, I was afford to take the chance because the rent of this apartment was cheap.
I loved this apartment because it allowed me to live any way I wanted.
I lived there for 4 years, but at last we had to leave, because they decided to break it down and make a brand new building.
I didn’t want to leave…so I wrote one last song in this room.
That very song is my original song “California Dreams” (Japanese title: この場所で夢をみた).
This is a love song for my favorite apartment in my life.
I still sometimes miss that room and my days as a poor young dreamer in Tokyo…

I had a workshop of Japanese music in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Hercegovina🇧🇦 last weekend!
Since I visited Sarajevo for the first time in this May, I fell in love with this beautiful city and it became my dream to come back here to have another performance... I'm so happy I could realize it!
I wanna appreciate all the participants, and also Embassy of Japan in BiH for organizing this special day☺️
This workshop was collaborated with Ondekoza, the oldest and the most established taiko drums band from Japan! Their show was amazing, it was my pleasure to meet them in Sarajevo✨
I hope to see you in Sarajevo again...very soon💛

We have a word pronounced “You I” in Japanese, that means “friendship”.
This song was released in early 2021, when the whole world had been still locked down.
At that time people rapidly got to interact with each other on the Internet. At the same time, I felt a trend had spread that it was ok to attack others with offensive words, for the sake of a cause such as “to protect lives" or "for peace”. Looking at this atmosphere I became afraid to speak on the Internet.
It is hard to understand people in different positions. However, it would be nice if everyone could at least stop for a moment and listen to the other opinion. Even if we have different opinions, we can still be friends…
This is the background of this song.
We were finally able to complete this music video after 3 years, in collaboration with France-based Japanese dancer/artist Ikumi Togawa.

It was an exciting experience for me to stay in France for a few weeks (almost two months in total!) and travel around in the country. I'm so happy I could make friends with a lot of people from all over France🥰
