Hi there. It seems obvious that very few people know a lot about curly hair. The only thing we do know is how to make it not curly. We know how to straighten it, blow dry it, damage it...
Curly hair is so precious and delicate. It cannot tolerate heat! Every strand of curly hair has thousands of little tiny holes that absorb anything you put on it, so when you put harsh shampoos on it, the holes suck it up, damaging your hair.
The first rule is NO SHAMPOO. So what do you use? A gentle cleanser that is sulfate-free (and organic) OR a conditioner (that's what I use).
The second rule is NEVER brush out your hair, wet or dry. Use a wide-toothed comb or your fingers. And never use a towel. Use a t-shirt.
Curly hair wants to do what it wants. The more you allow your hair to do what it wants, the greater it'll look.
You can have beautiful curls! I truly believe that! Anyone can! You just have to learn how!
