We are dedicated to honoring the memory of those who gave their lives in service to our nation. Every year, on the anniversary of a fallen hero, our Special Tactics community comes together to share their memories, say their names, and ensure their legacy endures. We recognize not only the sacrifices of our members but also those of their families.

On June 16th, through our First There 4 Resiliency program, our Foundation had the privilege of serving the Wendy Argel, Gold Star wife of Capt Derek Argel, on a day of scuba diving for her recertification. This special event was made possible through the generous donors who support our Foundation and in collaboration with the Special Tactics Training Squadron, 26th Special Tactics Squadron and 21st Special Tactics Squadron.

Working together, we took Wendy to Vortex Springs in Ponce de Leon, FL, where she and her dive buddy, Capt Benjamin Hofmann of the 26th STS, completed four dives in the 70ft freshwater spring. Other members of the 26th STS also participated, diving for recurrency. It was a profound honor for all of us to spend time with Wendy, listen to her story, and reassure her that she remains an integral part of our community. The Combat Control Foundation, along with our partners, is always here for her.

The Master Sergeant John A. Chapman 'Service Before Self' Award, named after the heroic actions of Medal of Honor recipient Master Sergeant John A. Chapman pays tribute to exceptional individuals who exemplify the core values of the Air Force, placing service above personal interests, displaying selflessness and dedication in their actions. Retired U.S. Air Force Colonel Allison Black’s unwavering commitment to this ethos makes her a most deserving recipient of this prestigious award.

The 'Service Before Self' award presentation will take place on the field during Air Force Falcons vs. Navy Midshipmen game on October 5, 2024, further strengthening the bonds of unity and camaraderie that exist between the branches of our military.

For more information on Col(R) Black, this award, and previous recipients, please visit our website at www.combatcontrolfoundation.org/sbs

Brent Sibley lived each day for his family and the Special Tactics brotherhood his son, SSgt Forrest Sibley, introduced him to. Forrest was a decorated war hero who was tragically killed in combat. Brent turned his grief into action, creating "Foland", a sanctuary for warriors to find peace and purpose.

On Aug 7, 2024, we tragically lost Brent. Honor the Sibley Family by donating. Your support assists with this unexpected loss.
