What are/were some of your childhood dreams?
Growing up in India, my mind was a whirlwind of creativity and curiosity! I was one of those kids whose imagination never rested ā the kind whoād see a tree and immediately start plotting an elaborate treehouse design, or pretend the backyard was a movie set for an epic adventure. Every trash items I found would become a treasure for me!
Back then I didnāt know it is called sustainabilityā¦
But my favorite pastime? Watching TV commercials and picturing myself as the face of every household product out there. Iād watch those cheerful faces selling soaps, shampoos, or cooking oils, and I just knew ā someday, that would be meš. Iād rehearse imaginary lines and perfect my āmother -approvedā smile, practicing until I was sure I could nail it on the first take. I was a little commercial star in my mind, convincing the whole India to buy the ābestā detergent or the āpurestā ghee! Lol š
I always thought this will remain as my dream only as my culture would never allow me to become a model or even the face of household as modeling has always been connected with glamours world.
Actually, glam has never really been my thing. Growing up, I wasnāt the kid who dreamt of runway lights or glittery outfits. I was more interested in the warmth of a kitchen(I was the shadow of my mother), the joy of creating something from scratch, or the little moments of magic in everyday life.
While the world of high fashion and glamour is beautiful, I feel at home in simplicity ā in the comfort of familiar faces, the smell of home-cooked food, and the beauty of everyday routines.
Itās those little things that have always inspired me. To me, being ārealā is more important than being āglam.ā I hope that, through what I share, you see the beauty in the ordinary, too.
Looking back, I laugh at how serious I was about it all, but Iām also so grateful for that silly, unfiltered creativity. That childhood dream of connecting with others through the things we use every day? In a way, it actually came trueā¦.in a little different way but very close to my imagination.
Forget about being a model but my dream of being an independent would not come true either.
From a young age, I knew I wanted to carve my own path. While traditions and things passed down have their own beauty and meaning, Iāve always felt a pull to create something uniquely MINE. I didnāt just want to follow in footsteps ā I wanted to make my own, even if that meant starting from scratch.
I could say āBhavnaās Kitchenā is one of them, of course I had some help & support from family.
Whether it was my career, my style, or even the way I approach life, Iāve always been inspired by the idea of building something new, something with my own signature on it. Creating something from the ground up, pouring my own ideas and personality into it ā thatās what excites me the most.
For anyone else who feels the same way, remember that itās okay to break the mold. Follow your vision, trust your creativity, and make something thatās yours.
Sometimes, our dreams do come true ā but not always in the ways we imagined. We might have visions of fame, success, or a particular lifestyle, only to find that life has its own plans. Often, what we once dreamed of takes shape in ways we didnāt expect or recognize right away.
The trick is to pause, reflect, and recognize the pieces of our dreams that might already be woven into our lives, just in different forms. Sometimes, a dream isnāt about the end result, but about the joy and purpose it brings. So, when life takes our dreams down different paths, it helps to embrace those moments and see the beauty of dreams fulfilled in unexpected ways.
My mind is still bit restless and thinking of something creating next big thing, donāt know yet what it is but I will keep dreaming!!!šš»
